has anyone been to this store? do they do installs if you bring them something to install? or do they only install what they sell? how was your experience there?

Chances are high that they only install what they sell.

to answer you question... AUTOBAC's does do installs but they do not warranty the product if it gets damaged or defected. tats pretty much the guideline of all installer's.
they are ok. pretty friendly. they are your usually street drivers who tune there own cars so its not that bad.

and autobacs isnt expensive... they jus sell at MSRP or retail price

My first visit to Autobac's I wasn't to impressed. Then again, if you've been to the ones in Japan, nothing will compare to it.

dunno i was kinda impressed when i first went there. but, i did notice that their prices are kinda high (compared to what you can get it for elsewhere). i also asked when i was there if they did free installs for product bought from them, or even a discount...and they said no. dunno though, i agree with the window shopping statement.

thats not a BS policy teddy. If you bring me your own steak to cook I am not gonna gurantee that its gonna taste the same. I also have that policy too, no guarantee on your own parts. :D That place is great to find little things that are never seen online or at a pepboys. You either go with a lot money or no money. Thats my advice to you. I was just there over this past weekend. Always a car show there. :D

Same goes here for me too. I went to the one in Orange County and it was just like the ones in Japan, but a little smaller. The price are kinda high, but can find some goodies there at your convience.

true it doesn't compare to the autobacs in japan but come on... the autobacs in cali hasn't been around as long as the ones in japan... what the US needs is a used parts store like they do in japan, can't remember the name but it sold things like a 180sx center reflector for your trunk for like $5. it had sh*t for all cars too... man... i miss japan
