So does anyone have a means to contcat this guy via phone or snail mail?

It's been over a month since I paid for my items and he has made no attempts to reply to or acknowledge my many request for either a refund or to ship my product.

Anyone having any luck with getting their items?

I started my dispute through paypal last week and I'll make it into an actual formal claim probably the end of this week. I figure if he wants to rectify the situation, he's being given every opportunity to do so with the formal dispute, however he hasn't bothered responding to it either.

It's all good! Karma keeps going... :D

I started a dispute with Paypal as well.

The sad thing is that before I made the purchase on his Ebay auction I emailed him three times to be sure I was getting the parts I wanted. He replied to all thee requests within 24 hours.

Since he got my money there has been no response at all. I know he is aware of the situation since he mentions it in his post above.

I've emailed his ebay accounts (both of them) his personal account, his led_mods.net account, etc.

I run a small side business selling items I make at home so I know what it's like to work on the weekends and late nights trying to bring a few cool products to my customers. I take vacations, have supply problems, travel for work, etc. so there are delays but I ALWAY let my customers know immediately if I am falling behind.

I have no problem dealing with vendors who fall behind or have a few set backs if they would only keep us informed when there are inevitable delays. Seems to me he has no intention of dealing with this or he would man-up and do it.

i found this note on the front page of his website:

PLEASE NOTE: PAUL HAD EMERGENCY SURGERY ON HIS FACE ON MONDAY AND WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING ANY WORK UNTIL THE WEEK OF 03/25. ANY GAUGES SENT IN WILL BE DELAYED. SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.

however... it is odd because it's well PAST that time frame.

my understanding of his nature is that he isn't out to scam anyone, nor have i seen in his character to do so, nor have i remotely mentioned he was possible at doing so...

but... he does seem to falter when it comes to updating his countless customers when it comes to communication... that and of this thread is to show that.

also note this thread: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=166270
some words with regards that help clear out how me and others feel.

give it some time. if you need further help, just let us know

I agree just as I have said before. I dont think he is out to scam anyone, but I wont stand up for his business practice regarding taking more work than can be completed on time and updating the customer.

Give it a little more time, but of course at some point you have to do what it takes to get your money or parts.

Here is another thread to look at - https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...409&highlight=

BlackRoses, I had a slight problem with him (my post is the last on that thread), but it wasn't near as drastic as yours. I wish you would have seen that thread first so you could have been a little prepared. Thanks to Trung, I was able to solve my issues of some LEDs not lighting up.

Sorry it took so long to get your guages back... so I guess I should retract some thing that I said about him in the trhead listed and now say that if anyone else should do business with the dude, be EXTREMELY cautious.
(but if you read this thread, you would know that... )

Thanks for the info. guys. I'm just going to let it be until I have to file the official claim with paypal. You know they only give you so long to do that and then you're just screwed.

Engifineer, I'll probably be contacting you in hopes to get some more questions answered. I'm thinking something different for my speedo and want your advice. Every other week I change my mind. At this point I need 5 xB's so I can make them all different!!!

Thanks again!

Dave, if I hear anything, I'll let you know!!!

Well, I got a reply from Paul this morning commenting on his surgery on March 19th and being out of commision until recently.

He offered to refund my money from the ebay auction that I won on Feb 28th . I will post back here if that happens.

Now I understand him not being able to deal with customers from March 19th through the 30 but that does not explain why a period of time three weeks BEFORE his surgery he could not have shipped my items or answered my emails. There is a big gap in there where he could have at least sent a single email to me.

Refund or not I will not deal with him again.

Default help?

Paul Salmas strikes again! Anybody got a number for this guy? This Friday will be four weeks since I paid the guy and he's still got my item. Same old story...one day turnaround, blah-blah, etc. I paid $20 more for overnight return shipping. Should have had it back some three weeks ago, then the supposed 'surgery'. Got an email a week ago Friday saying he'd finish the work Monday and I'd have it Tuesday. It's now the following Monday and.... <shocker> .....nothing. No replies to emails, no package. Friday is my deadline to file a Paypal protest - that hardly helps me recover the item I sent however.

If someone has a cell # for this guy, please PM me. I've got people lined up to stop by his house and visit to collect my item as a backup plan.

I'm sorry, PGT. I still haven't heard anything, so I escalated my paypal dispute to a claim. You are in a much worse conundrum considering he has parts from your car. If I hear anything, I will let you know.

NICE BACKUP PLAN!

Default UPDATE

Just thought I'd let you know my paypal claim is complete and they sided with me, so at least I'll get the money back for the LED's. Hope everything works out for everyone else as well.

No. I had won his ebay auction for pink SMT led's the end of February , paid through paypal, but never got anything. Thank goodness I learned through this experience before I sent him my gauges. I really would have been screwed then!

my guy went by last night and said 'hi, here's PGT on my cell phone' and I got to talk to him. He wouldn't realize my item to him, saying 'this is my home'. I replied "you didn't bother to tell me you were running a business out of your house Paul. I used the only address I had. Give him the unit". He wouldn't budge. He claims it's done and that he would ship back to me. Great! Send me a tracking number. Nothing....

He said his illness has set him back and that he'll get to everybody - he also admitted he's put people in a bad spot if they have their cars or bikes parked, waiting on him.

My guy said that when he walked up, Paul was sitting on the couch, watching TV. This was at about 2:30pm....business hours. He also said that there were UPS and FEDEX boxes stacked up the stairs as far as he could see.

So, what we have is someone who has taken on too much work and apparently isn't motivated to get it done.

I've got a few options. One is calling the local Tustin, CA Police and reporting the item as stolen. The fact he is sitting on so many parts is shady, shady, shady. Another option is to investigate whether or not he has proper business permits to operate a business out of the house. A quick call to Orange Cty Clerk's Office is all that's needed. If he doesn't have one, he's in deeper doo-doo than owing me.

Who here has outstanding issues? Perhaps we can compile something for my upcoming calls to Paul's local government offices.

You know, I am not one that usually holds grudges... someone might make me mad, and I will generally just prefer to not do business with them - not talk to them or associate with them in any way possible.

But when someone screws over multiple people, and seems to do it on purpose, something is wrong and they need to have some kind of action taken against them to make them stop... or in this case, start.

For that reason, I say go ahead and call the clerks office... see if he has a business lisence. He also had a website called mymodmall.com. Checking it now, it seems to be out of business. But you can still google it and find it there. Just FYI.

BTW, how did Pauls face look? He did have "surgery", you know... or did he?

I've also found that he has a business name registered named 'XS Mods'. I assume this is related to 'XBOX Scene', a forum for modders....based on his ledmods.net content.

the answer to that Q from my guy that went to see him:

no, not that I could tell. He looked tired, was dressed in basically slacks/shirt no shoes. Just "relaxing" at home.
