I know this website is here to make money. But losing one advertiser that is known scam doesn't seem like it would be such a bad thing. Anybody who knows anything about them knows that you give them $89 and they give you a discount at House of Boom and sticker vouchers.
Well from what I read on the site... they ONLY charge you the $89 if you get a "full sponsorship" which they say will be a value of $500 or more. I think there are a few people here that have signed up, but I don't know if/what they've gotten anything from it.
my BF is only 16... and he signed up and charged him $89.. all he received was stickers... he complained and called them for a refund. It was funny becuase he got the refund back becuase he was a minor!! hahaha
actually they got rid of house of boom and now have a sponsorship by Blaupunkt...ive signed up and gotten well over $200 in vinyls from decalkits.com...i got a full body stripe, windshield vinyl and a "scion" overlay for the windshield...plus many more vouchers i can use...and they also try to get sponsorships from any company that you request (its not garunteed though)

if these companies can get people to put their name on their car without actually sponsoring them why on earth would they actually sponsor you?
im assuming this scam is
this company gets your 89 bucks
the companies give them stickers for free to give to you for free advertisements
you get stickers for 89 bucks
IF you car happens to be off the chains... a company might take advantage of the exposure...

That companies a joke, I wish that I would have thought up that great scam before they did. Get people to give you $90, and in return give them some stickers that probably costs them $5 max since their buying wholesale.

I can get a 200' roll of vinyl in whatever color I can think of for less than their sponsorship fee. And for barely any more, I can get the printable kind and have whatever I want in however many colors I can think of. Vinyl graphics has one of the biggest mark-ups in the automotive market.
The thing with this company is that they portray a situation in which they are going to sponsor you. But anyone who has been into tuning cars for a while knows that it's not a "full sponsorship" if you have to pay for it.
The way this thing works is...everyone gets a "full sponsorship" or what they say is over $500. It might be higher for some people. Say you get a $10K sponsorship from them. You get a $10K credit on goods. But you have to go through their pre-approved companies to actually use this credit. And then, you still have to pay like 52% of the price that they have listed, and the other 48% comes out of your credit pool. It's called a co-op sponsorship. In some cases, they will be great prices after you take away the 48% of the price...you might be saving $25 on some graphics or something like that. But anything else, you can probably find cheaper on ebay or some other online retailer. In fact, local shops could probably get better prices on most things that they offer.
And don't forget, you have to buy through their companies in order to apply these prices. You might be able to find a cheaper price on something but it won't matter.
All I've ever seen out of this is basically a half price, online shucks/pep boys/whatever local generic automotive shop is in your area. You can get cheap decals, light bulbs and racing pedals.
I'm not here to discourage people from doing what they want. It's your car and your money. But I feel that everyone needs to at least know what they are getting into before agreeing to anything. Nobody was around to tell me about it. So great, they got my $89. But it's helped me in the long term because now I am more aware of what I agree to.
You also realize that a lot of their customers who pay the $89 are probably only worth a set of decals. I'm sure other people get better stuff and they have vehicles that are worth sponsoring.
