Default Clear corners (by ScionSmoke)

Ok so like three or four months ago I purchased clear corners from this company. I got them in and I went through the whole baking of the HL to install them. Well while installing them, one broke in half and one chipped in the corner (I didn't realize they were that fragile). So I contacted the company, told them the issue, and sent them money for another set. They sent me a couple of sets in the mail, but each time I opened the packaging, they are broken. So I have contacted the company each time telling them of the problem and they said they will send out another set. Well I still have not gotten them. I have emailed several times and I am told that they are having an issue shipping it to me because for some unknown reason, they keep being returned to them. Now I found this weird because I have never had an issue getting my mail. Now when I hear back from them, they say that they refunded my money, which they haven't. I don't want a refund but I want the product. I have asked them time and time again to ship it out for me and it has been a while. Now they are not even responding to my emails (which is my only form of contact). I don't know anyone else out there that makes these so it is kind of ____ing me off that this has turned into such a problem. I am not trying to be a d**k but I want what is owed to me. Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?

Haha, well I am not sure if they are an actual business. They are a couple of members here on SL, and they make these clear corners. They call themselves Scion Smoke.

Just scratch it up to a lesson learned. Scion Smoke is not really a company, it's just one guy. I have always been in favor of supporting the community, but most of the community-made parts which I have purchased have had problems.

I spent months trying to get my clear corners to work. With my first set from Scion Smoke, one was a perfect fit and the other did not fit at all. I asked for a single replacement and it was broken when it arrived in the mail. They didn't want to give me more free stuff, so I ended up purchasing another set and both of those were too mal-formed to fit correctly. I ended up with 4 bad corners and 1 good one. I just said screw this, and baked open my headlights, put back the stock corners, sealed them up, and wished I hadn't wasted my time in the first place.

I would love to see some professionally manufactured clear corners, but a guy cutting sheets of plastic with scissors just ain't good enough.

Sucks to hear. Should of just made your own from light diffuser material at Home Depot/Lowes.
Wouldn't cost you nearly as much and if you mess up, you'll have extra.

they're not actual manufactured clear corners, they are those clear acrylic sheets to cover lights just cut to the side marker's shape, you can find them for $5.00 for a huge sheet.

Thats y he sent u multiple sets without a hesitation b/c they dont cost much.

As for actual manufactured clear corners, they look like this:

Exactly. It's clear that this guy just does the Home Depot method and then charges $20 a set.

Alan, who did you get to manufacture those? The only place I have been able to find professionally made clear corners is at clearcorners.com, but they refused to sell me the corners individually. They include them as part of the $1300 headlights, but they wouldn't even tell me who the manufacturer was or anything.

It was also a SL member

he doesn't make them anymore though. I dont think he even owns the tC anymore.

I actually decided not to go with clears.

I wish I knew how he made them. I even had my own attempt at making high-quality clear corners by creating silicone molds of the stock corners and injecting them with clear plastic resin. It was almost a success, but I found out that a vacuum container is required in order to extract the air bubbles from the cast, and those are too expensive.

Yeah I wish that he was still making those cause would definately be better than what I have. I thought that when I ordered them, that is what I thought I was getting. I was kind of surprised to see how they were when I opened them for the first time. I think that I will be one of the unfortunate who got screwed, and have to attempt to make some of my own. Will have to post some pics when I get done.

Except that anything made from ceiling light covers will look like áss. Been there, tried that. They are difficult to cut, they are brittle and will shatter and crack easily, they can't be bent to match the shape of the housing, they can get warped or clouded from the heat of the oven, etc. etc. etc...
