Financing: Bank vs. TF? and one...
Well I am getting a pretty good rate both from my bank and Toyota Financial. However, with TF, I am getting the $400 rebate (for graduating students). However, I am still a little skeptical about TF. I am more comfortable with my bank. What do you ppl suggest?? Are there any cons about going with the TF. Can they change the rate after a yr or so?
Also, I am having the Scion Security System installed on my tC. Can the dealer allowed me to 'watch them' while it is being installed?
Thanks...

TFS fincances many many cars and you have nothing to worry about. Once you sign the paperwork you keep the rate they gave you, there is no way that they can change it. If the rates are close it will be much easier to just use TFS, you can get everything done in one place.
As far as watching them install your security system I would seriously doubt it. For insurance reasons customers are not allowed in the shop while a car is being worked on. If they tell you no understand that they are not trying to be rude.

^ could you elaborate a little more on 'insurance reasons'? thanx. scion security system is an oem part which is covered under the warranty from toyota..also how else am i suppose to know that its the right thing which is being installed in my car? imo it doesn't sound right...
The dealership has to have insurance to protect them if one of the techs gets hurt on the job. This insurance covers employees only and not customers. If you were back there and hit your head on a lift, slip on some oil, car falls off the lift and lands on you...etc., and you sued the dealer then insurance would not cover it. Therefore customers are not allowed in the shop area. If you want you can always ask to see the part before they install it.
What does the security system being oem and warranty have anything to do with you wanting to see it be installed?

initially i thought 'my' insurance company is going to have a problem with it...:D and in that case the security system is an oem and covered under warranty ....
I can't compare TFS to a bank, but compared to other manufacturers it's a lot better. Some companies will give you a low rate, but as soon as one payment is late, you get charged for all the financing you did before it was late at a ridiculous rate. Toyota doesn't do that... If you get 5.9 % it stays there no matter what
There's no pre-payment penalty either
