My experience with Autobacs...
This may seem a little off topic for here, since I'm not referring to their service dept., but I wanted to make a few comments about my experiences at super Autobacs in Stanton and see if anyone else has noticed similar.
I have bought stuff from there...my exhaust, springs, bulbs, air fresheners, etc.- but I don't want to buy things there anymore. It's not just that they are overpriced and pretend that the stuff they sell doesn't exist outside their store. It's more that the employees treat you like an ___ if you ask questions.
One time I was there, and I was looking to get a new shift ****. I was interested in the cue ball type. So I go over to where they they lock up all their shift *****, and there is an employee there putting some stuff back in the case. So I said "Excuse me..." and proceeded to explain to him what I was looking for. So the guy, without even looking back at me, tries to hand me a shift lknob from over his shoulder... a shift **** he was already putting back in the case. It was square and small. Nothing I described at all. So I took it and looked at it and said-"No, not like this..the one Im looking for is rou..."--and he's already holding another one over his shoulder that he was putting back in the case. So I said "what is ithis?" I didn't take the one he was trying to hand me this time. So i just sood there for a minute...silence. I started to get irritated, so I said to him "I'm looking for a shift ****..." and I described it to him again. He tries to hand me the same one again. He still never even turned to look at me. So I said, "Dude, what the hell? Why you keep trying to hand me this s&&t?! You too busy to help me or something?!" So he turns around and looks at me. Then I thought maybe he doesn't understand me or something--but he didn't look hispanic at all...maybe indian or something, with these thickass glasses on.--so I knew spanish wasn't gonna help me here. So then he says "We don't have that kind here. Nobody does." And he just walks away. So I thought "F*&k it. I see how this crap goes."
I didn't bother to say anything to a manager or stupid crap like that. I was ____ed. I knew if I didn't leave then, I was gonna get myself into some trouble.
Stupid me...a few weeks later, I went back there.
I was there and looking to buy some bulbs. I wanted to get some of the 194 wedge bulbs for my plate lights, but I was curious to know there was any difference between a 194 and a 168 wedge bulb. So I asked one of the guys working there. The answer I got was a "pffft!....NO! There the same thing....*sigh*"<-- the *pfft!* being that sound of of air being pushed between your lips when some has said something you think is ridiculous or stupid. I just kind of looked at the guy for a minute, and said " never mind. I can get them at pepboys for less than half the price and none of the f&^%in' attitude, dick."
Other times I've been there, I've noticed that if your looking at big crap- like body kits and stuff, nobody comes near you---but if you are looking at small stuff, like bulbs or ant of the small stuff that they don't put behind glass, they come asking if you need help. And it's that assinine "Do you NEED help ( we think you're gonna steal if we don't watch you)" crap. I've spent a fair chunk of cash in there in the past, and it used to be cool. Now they only come up to you if they think you might steal some crap.
I was really excited when that store opened, and it used to be really cool. Now it sucks.
I remember reading an article where they explained that the autobacs company in Japan was going to open that one super autobacs store, to see how things went. The idea was that if things went well with this one store, they projected that they could open another 200 stores across the US. NEVER gonna happen.
It's weird to me. I don't think that the store does that well...most people who go in there just walk around staring at stuff- like a kid at toys r us. The part that seems weird to me is that nobody seems to give a f*&^ about how the employees treat people, becasue if you don't have a "tuner" or a "he's got money" look- they're gonna treat you like crap.
Oh well. However things go for autobacs- I wont ever buy a damn thing from there again.

The poster here is a buddy of mine, and I was there with the shift **** thing. He got too angry, and went outside. I did say something to a manager about it. I don't really care about that stuff, because I don't buy my stuff there. It's too expensive. I just go there for the air fresheners. Its like air freshener heaven in the. I love it.
