p-tuning, great place for a tc to be!
so i just got my tc back from a very reputible garage called p-tuning, and while they were installing my clutch, clutchline, flywheel and lsd, they called and told me that my driver side drive shaft was messed up because somebody had stripped it with an impact tool and it was bent and needed replacement.
it wasn't a big deal, only $340 for a new one, and no installation cost since it was already being put back in with reassembly of the transaxle. they offered to find me a rebuilt one for less, but i've had too much bad luck with rebuilt parts on my old ford explorer.
anyway, i immediately knew who was responsible for this because the day i drove off with my newly installed trd shocks, struts and springs from a garage in frostburg, i noticed that the driver side front wheel felt weak going over bumps. i took it back to them and they said it was a bad sway bar bushing, so i got the hotchkis sways installed since they came with their own bushing. it helped stiffen things up, but i still felt a weird flexing in the pedals and the car going over speed bumps and uneven parts of the road.
kinda makes me mad, i mean, why would anybody mess with my drivetrain assembly when installing trd suspension? stupid idiots
luckily my tc is nice and solid again now, and i'm not really interested in getting a refund from that garage that messed up my car a bit, but i might pay them a visit and let them know that one of their mechanics has no integrity. i no longer have my receipts for the work they did anyway, but oh well, just thought i'd rant about this.
big thanks for p-tuning the attention to detail, great work and reasonable pricing. can't wait to go back to have them install my turbo! just wish it was closer... lol

this garage up in frostburg maryland where i go to college. it is called kinearam tire or something like that.
just a regular run of the mill garage that does regular maitenance on cars including replacing oe shocks and struts, which is pretty much what trd suspension is. one of the mechanics even said he installed progressive coilovers on his eclipse, so i felt confident that he would have no problem with this job.
