Default ScionGeneration.com= MEGA FAIL!

I am VERY DISAPPOINTED by Scion Generation. Apparently I am not the only one with problems either. Refer to this thread for another person getting screwed currently.

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=228000

I ordered a DC Strut bar on the 9th of this month as a birthday gift from my bf. He let me pick what I wanted and gave me the money for it. Yay! So I am super thrilled, go and find someone who seems to have what I am looking for and place the order.

My bday gets here and no word from the company. Mind you, the company withdrew the money from my account on the 11th, so I want to check and see how long it might be before I get my product. I email for status and maybe a tracking number on the 13th and this is what I get:

Your order was directed to a 3rd party due to a stocking issue at our location. We felt we could have it to you sooner if we shipped your order directly from our supplier rather than having it delivered here and then sending it to you. After receiving your e-mail I contacted my supplier to see what was taking so long and discovered that the part is on back order. I really apologize for this delay. I understand that orders are time sensitive and we can cancel and refund your order if this is how you would like to proceed. If you would like to wait for the item to become available that is fine as well. Please let us know how you would like us to proceed as soon as possible.

I really apologize for the delay and the inconvenience that this causes.

Sincerely,

Dave K

Scion Generation

So I decide to wait a week, no worries, it will be here soon, right? This is what I say in response that Monday, the 16th:

If you think the order can not be shipped before the end of the week, go ahead and cancel it. If it can, keep me posted with tracking info. Thanks for your help with this issue.

No response. I wait until Monday to call and I email AGAIN on the 23rd:

Since I have not received any further information on my order in over a week, please cancel the order and refund my account.

Order Date: 06/09/2008
Order Number: yhst-XXXXXXXXXX6773-928
Item Cost
1 DC Sports
Carbon Steel
Front Strut
Bar $117.00
Subtotal: $117.00
Shipping: $7.40
Tax: $0.00
Total: $124.40

A response would be appreciated once this has been taken care of.

Think I got one? No. This is my final email:

I would like to know what is the status of my order. I have not received any response from your company since June 13th. Is the order being canceled, or is the part being delivered? My account was charged $124.40 on June 11th, yet I have received no part or further information on the situation.

Please see the emails below with all the information and contact history. I would like to have this resolved as soon as possible. Thanks.

What is going on here? This is BAD BUSINESS. I am very upset, and it seems like at least one other person on here is having as much difficulty as me. Take care with your online orders everyone, and I reccomend AGAINST using them at all!

This company is worthless. It has been OVER A MONTH and nothing. Last email from them was June 13th.

Wow, thats sad to hear of this.

I met Dave at a bunch of shows last summer, and he seemed really psyched about the scion brand/market. Its a shame to see lacking customer support from him/his company.

After reading the other thread and this one, I'm glad I didn't buy from them last night. They had a good price on Goodridge brake lines... but I ended up ordering from wesellcarparts.com instead. I hear they're good people.

Thanx for the support everyone. I have to admit, my feelings are really hurt behind all this. Happy birthday indeed. Jerks. Oh, and EPIC just didn't feel right. Epic fail seems funny. Mega fail suits my anger better. ;) But thanx for the smile! I need it!

im not defending anyone here, just making a statement. Yes it's sad that the lack of communication you have with this company. But from my experience in this field (the company selling the part), alot of things seem to be on hiatus, which may have to do with the production of your strut bar. Lack of raw materials, and really expensive fuel surcharges has basically slowed this industry down alot. And its hard to keep a business running during all of this. The manufacturer tells us one thing, then we relay that to the customer, then for whatever reason that manufacturer actually stops calling you and giving you information until they themselves have it.
So basically it becomes a waiting game, we have to wait from the manufacturer for some information before we can give you "the customer" the same information..

our biggest problem right now is tires, we have Mickey Thompson tires on back order since November. And there are quite a few customers still waiting for their tires to come off back order. There just isnt enough time in the day to call them each and everyday..

Try giving them a call rather then do it from emails, speaking to someone seems to get things done quicker.

P.S. if this is hard to read for whatever reason, im at the end of the day and my brain hurts.

that doesn't always work... if the company is worthwhile then they will have decent customer service both in emails and/or phone...

in MY experience, people that don't respond to their emails, often give me stupid excuses about the order and then give me even more excuse that I am unable to cancel my order

i do agree that phone calls sometimes gets the job done better, and more often than not i do make a call rather than email.. however i also find that i am more collective and cool when i email vs the phone where things can heat up really fast and that's a side of me that will give anyone a headache.

I HAVE called. the only number I have is the one on my statement. NO ANSWER EITHER. And NO RESPONSE to my vm. Come on. Last email was June 13th. No matter how slow production is, I deserve at least a WORD.

Anyone that has any idea of what goes on in this industry would know to tell you that ALL dcsports parts are on eternal backorder.

Just so you know, DCSports was bought out by DME. Since then, everything they sell has had manufacturing issues and hasnt been released. I have had headers on backorder for almost a year. Your strut bar probably wouldnt be released until winter. If the place you bought it from actually dealt with them direct or had a supplier that communicated, they would have told you this.

This is what happens... You have these people that just sit in front of a computer all day processing orders and have no idea what goes on in the industry. YIKES!

Well anyways, I hope you get a refund or at least get your strut bar.

So DC Sports is no longer affiliated/owned by AEM? Strange.

AEM sold DCSports before SEMA of last year and that was the end of October.

Not too many people knew about it. But it put ALL their parts on a crazy delay.
