Default Sound Performance needs to get their act together

I purchased their high dollar turbo kit back in april/may and still haven't got all the parts. I've talked with Tim over and over again and every time I call him, he says "I'll have them out today." Hasn't happened yet. He has until the end of this week to get the parts to me. I have all the major parts; turbo, pipes, safc-ii, wastegate, BOV, all the expensive stuff. I lack the small stuff and my oil, fuel, and water lines.

I have only so much patience, which ran out. That's why I'm writing this. I won't buy from them again. But I still won't buy from ZPI, no matter how slow SP is.

Update.....

I received enough of the kit in mid January to install the kit. took three days to install since no manual was provided. was missing some fittings for the oil feed line and had a tough time getting those. car was up and running in one week.

As of three weeks of May 19th,07. the turbo started to burn oil. shipped it off to Sound Performance because the engine test was fine. Now on to the BS from them again....

I called Tim at SP about the turbo and possible causes of the smoke. he said to get a compression test to make sure the engine was fine. Turns out the engine is perfectly fine. So i called him back to let him know, he said that i need to ship the turbo cartridge to him and when he gets it he will send a new one. turbo arrived at their shop on tuesday of this week and i called them one thursday for an update. One of the shop guys tells me the turbo didnt have any shaft play so they sent it off to Precision Turbo to have them check it out and i will get a replacement once they check it out ( at that point im not fast and definately FURIOUS). So i call back 20 minutes later to speak with Tim directly about this, told him this is the only week that i have a car to drive since my tc is my daily driver and that i must have a replacement since he promised a new one would ship out when he got mine. on thursday he said he would ship one out. I call on friday to confirm with Tim the e-mail that i sent (which is similar to this reply) and to get a tracking number. Guy on the phone said that Tim was not there friday and that they would send the turbo out to today and it was ready to ship. So hear I sit with my car in pieces from redoing my stereo and my shifter only to find that they are trying to shaft me again. If i do not receive my new internals next week, there will be action taken and it wont involve the justice system.

OK, so apparently i got my turbo today......BUT THEY SHIPPED IT TO THE WRONG ADDRESS!!!! They sent it to my old employer and luckily the new location manager is a good friend of my dad. SO, i have a supposedly new turbo housing waiting for me tomorrow to put on. They're service still sucks but they actually shipped something in an almost reasonable time.

Hi Jason,
This is Chris, one of the owners at SP. First off, I'm terribly sorry for any inconvienance, and if there is anything I can do please let me know. I assure you this is not a common thing here. We are in a busy season, as well as our turbo supplier and we are at their mercy. Nonetheless, communication is key and if you need anything you can contact me directly!

Thanks
Chris

This may be "one" bad experience and "communication" is the key. But I've been in similar situations in the past with clients/customers and believe a straightforward answer is better than having an employee just string your customer along. 1. it just demeans your company and it's reputation and 2. you'll slowly integrate this as part of daily business acts where employees might pick it up. Especially being in our industry like any other retailers - customers pay and expect their items in a timely fashion - and if it's special order let them know and give them an approximate time. The more you try to delay and create "errors" with shipping or otherwise the less likely the client and their friends will buy from you in the future. So, like I've learned just be honest - integrity is important in our industry especially with so much competition. Especially in California. I do give you kudos for stepping in and making a statement on your company's behalf for this customer's dissatisfaction...just lesson learned right? Much respect...don't take any of this in the wrong way just advice.

As for your customer - hope all went well bro!

well after dealing with SP for over a year, getting the parts, replacing the first turbo, and dealing with Mark (who left SP) and Tim who tried to help but wasn't as much of help as i would have hoped, i am currently happy with the setup. However, I do not foresee anymore transactions with SP, I will deal with my local tuner shop and Dezod for any further modifications.

The reason it happened the way it did is because Mike was the one who took the order on that kit... he quit and there was no one that really knew about it. Once I found out where everything for the kit was... I put it all together and shipped it to him next day SATURDAY Delivery!!! which you know isn't cheap. When he called me with problems I tried to handle them as soon as I could, but I am at the mercy of or repair facility.

I have taken over the Scion line and have been very successful with it. I install and build the kits all myself.
I mock up every kit so I know everything is there. I have also upgraded the kit in many ways on the 07 limited I just did.
I have a new XB coming in as well.
Chris and I received much praise from Troy at 5 axis about our kit. He liked the overall look and detail of the kit. We will be building him one for a future project he has going.

If any of you have any questions or concerns please call or email me.
