STAY AWAY FROM AA AUTOWORKS IN VAN NUYS,CA!*PICSONPAGE6*
funny how they try to clear their name but still refuses to help you out tina, thats about the only thing good about living where i am, once a shop does something like that word gets around fast, i cant tell you how many shops have packed up and moved in the 5 years i have been here to the words of "can't make any money", its not that they can't, its cause they start off doing great work, then allow dumba$$es to work there a few months later, ruin their name, steal from the customers, then word gets out and no one goes back to that shop, both with bikes and cars.....but i can see that in cali its alot harder to bring a shop down in that matter, karma is a PITA and they will see it soon enough
The majority of body shops out here only stay in business due to insurance claims & pulling fraud. Magically, when they had my car for 10 weeks doing the paint & body work, so many slightly modded cars came in looking fine but the next day they were key'd.
I swear, I'm part of the the small percentage of people out here who built a car completely legit. Sadly, that's why my bank account cries.

i fill ya, when i was still living in georgia i was big into drag racing, but was almost laughed at with a 11sec quater mile street car cause so many "dirty" cars with loads of cash were running, it took the fun out of it, main reason i sold out and bought a bike and a good dependable car. never got into the show scene but i see its no better, sorry to hear about your problems, in pics the car looks good, but im about as picky as you and i know i would be driven up the wall if my hard earned money had gone to some crappy shop, main reason that if i can't do it, it wont get done, cause i dont have the money to just throw away, and that goes for simple things, like i just had my exhaust redone and even though no one will see it, i hate the way it looks under the car and it isn't exactually what i asked for. but that doesn't compare to your lost i know, good luck with everything
Thanks.
It looks like crap in person but usually in smaller areas that wont be seen like the corners of the door jams or corners in my engine bay. The paints still wet which is why I haven't taken my vinyls off cuz it's all embossed. Ugh!

can you take this to small claims court? idk what paint you used, but i used planet color by sherm williams and they can do a free test to see if the car was prepped and painted correctly. all they need is a small sample to send it to the lab. im sure the results from that will be enough proof

STILL GOT JACK ISH!
so a good friend of mine referred me to AA, and at the time (a year ago) I have heard good things about them, especially from the scion community. So thats where I went to get my kaminari flush mount spoiler painted and mounted.
Now don't get me wrong. The guys there are really cool. I think its their staff, or workers, or labourers that tend to do lousy jobs, either because either they have no idea what they're doing, poorly trained, or the communication between management and staff is not there. Adding to the pain is that the management, when knowing that their staff ____ed up, PLAYS IT OFF AS IF NOTHING IS WRONG.
So heres the pic of the spoiler after the initial installation.

After some wheeling & dealing, heres the spoiler after:

They were going to charge me an additional $100 for the fix, but then the management, being the cool guys that they are, decided to fix it for free. The paint on the spoiler itself is..... less than perfect. As you can see, the paint does have some swirl to it, but management insisted that there was nothing they could do about that. They did, however, do an awesome job shaving and evening out the spoiler where the Kaminari sticker is supposed to go.
Alls well that ends well, I guess.
So thats my story. All of this happened last year. Who knows, maybe they've become a more better shop now. I'll pass judgement of the shop to you guys.
