STAY AWAY FROM AA AUTOWORKS IN VAN NUYS,CA!*PICSONPAGE6*
I will reserve complete judgement since I havent seen your car in person. But the very first pic I ever saw of your car after this work was done prompted my response "what monkey did the fit job and body work on that body kit????". Granted, I dont like body kits, at all (no offense, just my opinion), but I really hate when one is put on with terrible fitment... and to notice it with one glance at a picture is not a good sign. Again, dont take this personally, as I doubt you will since you are angry about fitment as well.
And them saying "done so well in the shows" means nothing to me. I have seen cars that win show after show that looked like a kid built them. There are two basic types of car shows these days. One are the older restores.. these are typically judged very harsh on the precise nature of the work done. The second are the tuner shows. At many of these, people tend to look at the off the wall nature of the design chosen and for some reason tend to look right over crappy work. And if you have seen the looks on the restorer level guys faces when they see this section of a show, it is humorous to say the least. The body work and fitment is far below level on a large percentage of those cars. It is like comparing Foose with Pimp my Ride
So while there is some good work at some of the tuner shows.. even some of the "good" stuff I see has flaws all over that a good body man would never allow out of his shop. So the argument about the shows doesnt hold much weight really. If the things you say wrong really are wrong (aside from what color was picked even) then they should redo the entire job 100% out of their pocket no questions asked.
In either case I hope you get it taken care of. While I dont take to the style of mods you do, I still hate to see a job done poorly and someone who is actually paying for every cent get the shaft.
It is VERY simple. They answer your calls, take your car in and make it right. Everyone makes mistakes on jobs.. that is not that big of a deal. It is how those mistakes are handled that make the right ending.

The community is warned
unless anything new is added we should let it die....or lock it
I dont agree. Others, including her have posted pics of their shoddy work.. that much we see. So plenty of people see the warning in the meantime. If the shop takes care of it.. that will be well exposed as well. So either way, there is benefit for having the thread open. I had never heard of this until someone started talking about it again for example.
Some threads end and need to stay dead.. dealer/vendor experiences show benefit by being left open.

maybe but that doesn't mean something new can't come up. And if something new comes up it would be good to have it all continuous rather than having 5 different threads. this as well as the ikona issue are two problems that are still open which means the threads should be open. There is no reason to lock them. In fact i think locking both of them does more harm than good.
if you're going to use the no new information added then why not lock all the chat threads around there. They don't add any information except talking. And if talking is adding information i find it hard to believe that each post in this thread doesn't add more information that BS or chat threads. Hell my own threads have more posts without information added than this thread.

But in the end, it takes a lot of skill for someone to be capable of doing something like that. Maybe 1 in every 5000 has that type of time & even materials at their disposal so you can't expect everyone to do that.
have you written up your experience on yelp.com? A lot of people seem to be using that for resturant reviews in my area. I dunno about down where you are though.
I find some reviews of every kind of retail store on that site.

But I just looked up on Yelp & apparently they're not even listed. But I'll see what I can do.
Thanks.

Also, I'm thinking if this shop mostly caters to the custom car crowd, yelp wouldn't be that helpful. Mostly, yelp is used by ordinary folks looking a for a single issue of service - like car repair, body work, standard body paint, etc. I dunno how many yelpers would be looking for and reviewing a place for full on custom work.
