What is 3M DI-NOC?

3M DI-NOC is a high-end vinyl from 3M from their Architectural Finishes series. The vinyl is very thin and lends itself well to complex shapes and curvatures. The vinyl has a self-adhering backing, making it easy to apply to anything. Apply it to the hood of your car or the back of your iPhone. It is extremely durable which makes it perfect anything that will have to endure the rigors of outdoor weather. The CA-421 model that we sell has a dry carbon look. It is not a printed pattern, but in fact, has a three-dimensional texture and reflects light just like real carbon fiber.

For your interior panels, we recommend going with CF Fabric and not the Di-noc stuff. The CF Fabric is much thinner and easy to wrap for interior pieces. Free shipping on that stuff too!

It is very durable and actually better then paint for rock chips. The reason is it's very flexible and doesn't really chip. Paint chips because it is hard. It also acts as a good protect for your paint. The 3M Di-noc stuff is designed for exterior use, where as our carbon fiber fabrics are design for interior us.

How much will I need to do a tc hood??
and how much do you recomment for interior work??

As for your hood, just take some quick measurements. Typical BMW roof is around 4ft x 5ft or 4ft x 6ft. All you need is about 6 inches extra on each side for safety.

For interior work, I would recommend going with CF Fabrics. Depending on the amount of interior you need to do, 2-3 yards and you can do most dash trims + door trims. Similar to the BMW photo's I posted. You'll need a can of Super 77 from 3M to apply.

Yes we carry the 3M Di-Noc just like them. However we also carry CF interior fabrics. This is the same fabric used in BMW's OEM interior carbon trims.

So basically the possibilities are endless with this interior fabric. Would the adhesive/fabric be strong enough and last long enough for a headliner? I'll be making an order monday morning.

Yes, the interior fabric is extremely thin and flexible. The 3M Di-Noc material is more heavy duty. It is vinyl based. That is why it's more applicable to body panels and exterior parts.

Yes you will be able to do a headliner. Depending on the material, it may be a good idea to strip it of the base. As long as the surface is flat without cushion, the Carbon Fiber Fabric will stick and hold without a problem.

I have a quick question...I saw in the vid that you guys used a heat gun...is that the only way to do it, or can you use a hairdrier(does it get hot enough?).

An if a heat gun can only be used what temps are required for the glue to set right?

3M Di-Noc is sold by per linear foot.

Hairdryer can also be used if heat gun is not available. Glue has no temp requirements as the sheet can be pulled off and reapplied multiple times as long as the surface is clean.
