i just got mine in the mail and it doesn't work. it just comes on saying connecting.... and then dies after about 10 seconds. is it defective or do i need to set it up? please help me out here. and if it is indeed defective how do i go about getting another one? btw it does it on both my 06 tc and my 99 ranger.

The clamp they use goes on a round mirror post. The xB has a trapazoid-ish shape to it. Would there be a way to get it to work?

 

so this thing pretty much should start working right out of the box when u plug it in then right? if it doesn't its broke then?

 

Sounds about right to me...
I am sure you have but verify the cable is plugged in snuggly on both ends and try both ports on the ScangaugeII. These just fire right up and it is rare there is an issue but don't worry about it give the manufacture a call Monday and they hook you up!

 

It is highly possible it would work as all it has to do is clamp down a bit but they don't say one way or the other...you could be the first to post pictures! You can always return the mount if it does not work...btw a couple of the tC guys just used the velcro to stick it on top with no mount.

Just got mine and I'm having the same problem but mine staying on for about a minute. And the VSC, TRAC OFF, and ABS lights come on and stay on when I start the car up. Let us know what they say when you talk to them.

Also, should the OBDII wobble alittle?

i called the people from linear logic and the gentleman i spoke to said that it was wierd that it didn't work on either the ranger or the tc because both cars run off of different circuits within the scangauge. he said sometimes it won't work on one car but usually another because of a single faulty circuit. it is rare that 2 would go out at the same time. but he said he will send out another unit right away and then i can just send him back the old unit in the same box with the prepaid shipping sticker. it should be here by the 1st of feb. kool.

 

That was probably Ron, awesome guy he lives and breathes OBDII and always takes care of issues ASAP they are definitely one of my favorite suppliers!

 

yea great customer service. i hope the new one works.

 

jsut got off the phone with them and they said i most likely need a CAN cable. So they are sending me a new able and HU and I send back the HU I already have.

i am soooo disappointed. my new unit came in the mail today so i ripped open the package to test it and............ it does the same friggin thing. stays on trying to connect for about 15 seconds and then shuts off. i tried forcing all of the different codes and nothing. i don't understand what is happening. i just want to send these back and get a refund. im through with these things. so who do i go through for a refund? i technically bought these things from u zack but i've dealt with the manufacturer for all the warranty issues.
