Going to flush and run Water Wetter and see if there is a difference...you would never know that with the red light, blue light!
220 is normal, fans kick on at that temp.

flushing the cooling system will not resolve an overheating problem.
first things first, check coolant level.
check for a plugged or partially plugged radiator.
if a car overheats in city driving or stop and go traffic check cooling fan operation.
if a car overheats on the freeway, possible plugged radiator.
if car overheats all the time, check thermostat.

i could go on, but from what you said, i'd check coolant level, check for plugged radiator and look to see if the core of the radiator or condenser is covered (plastic bags, pet hair, dirt..)

but yea..the idiot light is useless, i hate the red/blue only indicator light.

ok, back on topic
On the xB the fans go on around 204...I'm not worried about the temp going up it's just hot outside and sitting on 580 with the AC on in traffic for an hour brings it right up...I'm going to switch to the Water Wetter for fun just to see if the claims are true. If I smell coolant that is another story!

Thank to you guys at 365Motorwerks. I got my gauge in the mail today. Talk about simple to mount and hookup? I had mine mounted, cable routed (out of sight) and running in 6 minutes. I turned on the car and tested it but I won't be able to do a comprehensive test til later because I'm home with the napping baby.....

Kudos to Linear-Logic as well.

Here are two pics of my 6 minute install.

Jim

Default Color settings

I played around with my user defined settings until I found the amber color to match my clock and radio. Took me a few minutes but I got it.

I have something that may help everyone in the color department, but I will have to post it later, as Im at work right now.
