Hey all,

I'v had my TC since October, and just recently noticed a crack on the the bottem left of the fromt windshield. Does anyone know if the windshield is completely covered in the warrantee or should i just notfy my insuarance?

Windshield chips and cracks are not covered under the warranty.

 

It is covered if there is no chip or anything. Tell them it is a dealer defect and the windshield "warped". Thats how I got a free one. But yeah my windsheild just cracked for the second time in less than a yeat....

 

I just put a new windshild in yesterday and it cost me 100.00.

Ive had my xb since february of last year and at that time i was living in Louisiana. i have like 4 rock chips and a crack where a rock hit and it cracked like half way down from the very top. Sometimes you just cant help how the roads are no matter how close you are following. Since ive been living back in california ive not had ANY chips in my windshield. i dont see many 18 wheelers like on the 405 or anything but on the louisiana roads they are everywhere and they kick up rocks and thats where every single one of mine came from. i bet we all wish our windshields could be covered but its not toyotas fault it chipped. i dont know what insurance could really do about it either tho.

 

Well, if your car is financed, you likely have 'comprehensive' coverage, and most 'comp' coverage covers glass. So, what insurance can do about it is replace the windshield with you only paying your deductible...
