2 Clicks Before Startup?
Ok guys, I searched and didn't see a post about this so here goes. I was resetting the maintenance required light tonight on my xB and I noticed a strange noise when I turned my key to ON. I didn't start the engine, I just turned the key past accessory mode so I could see my odometer to make sure it wasn't in trip mode. Then I heard these 2 quick click sounds that seemed like they came from under the car. I wasn't sure what to make of it...maybe the fuel going up through the lines? I never heard it before because I usually don't turn my key to that position unless I'm about to start the car. I left it there for about a second or two before I heard the clicks. If I turned the key to off and then back to ON, it would make the noise again. I was wondering if it is anything I should be worried about. Do yours do it too? Thanks for any help.

I could tell you its not the fuel in the line. Im pretty sure that when you turn the key you could hear the fuel pump for a sec or two while the system gets up to the right pressure. I think once you turn the key to off the system is still under pressure. I might be wrong about that. As for the clicks I have no clue what that could be.

it might be possible that it's your cars ecu doing a system check, the clicking noise are coming from relays in the engine bay and inside the cabin clicking on and off, not a issue to worry about unless your check engine light comes on. hope that helps a lil

Thanks, guys. Does anyone mind running out to your car for a sec to see if yours makes the same noise? I think its weird that I am just noticing it now, considering I've had the car since February. I thought it might be the fuel pump or something startup related, but I just wanted to be sure. Thanks again.

Yea, i think i know what your talking about and my car does it too. I'm positive its just the car just checking up on itself. My box and my old 94 Integra made that sound when the key was turned and they were both perfectly maintained. Well hope this helps :D

Dude, you got some good ears! I never noticed that you could hear the clicks unless you were under the hood. Anyway, the clicks are the circuit opening relay and the EFI main relay energizing. Normal stuff.

Another noise..... electric sound........
Also, another noise I notice after my Box is started and I put the auto tranny in D. It sounds like an electric sound. I believe it's the rear hatch locking, but not sure. Anyone else notice this?
