Default Advice for ding / scratch

ok so I got a small ding / scratch and I am ____ed! I have been taking extra care to park the car in places where no one will (likely) hit it, but now it has happened anyway. Yesterday we take the kids to the park and I parked the car across the street by the curb. We get back to that car and as we are walking up I see the thing and I'm like WTF!!!! its really small but it might as well have been a huge chunk of metal missing at the moment, cause thats how it looked to me. Looks like some kid fell over on his bike into it or something. ARGH!!!

Anyway have any of you guys used those "come out to you" paintless dent remover people with any success? Or how about the touch up kits are they any good for the paint once the dent is gone? I have the 8-pc carbon fiber kit on my car so the car is going to get body work and custom paint later anyway (cause I'm molding the fender flares in and all), but in the meantime I was wondering what you guys recommend? I do custom graphicsmyself on the side, so I might just cover it with vinyl, but I have been trying not to do that because I like the car clean with just the kit and no graphics. Maybe just a single stripe down the side? I dont know.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

stop by walgreen's or ? and pick up "the ding king". It's about $20 and does a great job, IMO. comes with everything you need, hot glue gun, etc. I've never used the dent-repair people, but I've heard good things about them.

I would imagine the ding king and some touch-up paint www.paintscratch.com will be all you'd need. Keep in mind, the ding king and some touch-up paint w/clearcoat will last you a long time and be a whole lot cheaper than having professionals take care of every little ding and dent.

I've had a dent remover guy come out (to work) and remove a dent. this guy was in-freakin'-credible. $75 per panel - he spent about 45 min. to an hour on a dent on my hatch. went in thru an existing latch hole. he buffed out the spot when he was done. I know the exact spot (since I put it there) and have pointed it out to a few and no one can see where he worked.
ask around your local area. there's gotta be a good guy everywhere.
I've used the Ding King before and had success w/ it, but nothing like the pro.

I had a company called 'dent pro' come out and work on my Focus that I had. I told the guy to go around the car, and take out any dent you find.

$300 later, my car was fixed. He showed me dents that i didnt know I had!

I had my xB parked in front of my house last summer. I lived in a gated community (so their was not alot of traffic) . Anyways, i was dusting off my car, and found a dent /scratch on my hood, and a deep scratch on my bumper.

$950 later I had my car back from a body shop.

I feel your pain!

Just wait a little longer and hope that the next ones will match....The sheet metal on these is insanely thin..they'll dent if you look at them wrong...I've had 5 incidents already; bumper hit twice (second time after repainted), left door creased, right rear fender dinged, right rear quarter dinged (my fault, golf bag tapped it). None of these involved much force and they all lead to dents, dings, or scratches; and I too park far away from everybody else.....the paint and metal has seemed to be the tC's biggest downfall in my opinion. My point, is get used to it. I wouldn't do anything if you plan to repaint it anyway. I will most likely be painting mine in a couple years as well.
