Help...I have 2004 xB with close to 50,000 miles...& I have never yet changed or cleaned AEM cold air intake filter. Does anyone know how or give me some wise advice of what I should do. Thanks in advance.

 

Yeah--I have been thinking about finding the directions to see what is recommended......I could use the answer as well.

their too lazy to clean it so their gonna just replace it :?

Get the K&N filter charger cleaner/oil kit. You spray the filter with the cleaner wait awhile then rinse with water. Allow to dry overnight then re-oil. Good as new and ready for the next 20-30K miles.

 

how about with the aem dryfilter. it costs a bit more and gets the same 20K out of it, but it is "rechargable" and does it work as well, if not better?

 

The K&N is good for a million miles why chance something else.

 

b/c it uses oil which can be bad for the MAF sensor. The dry filters are supposed to be much "healthier" for the car. They all have to be cleaned though at about 20K.

Any info on it? Does it do a good job filtering? etc

 

as long as you oil it properly it has no effect on the air flow sensor.

 

yea that filter cant be spitting out too much oil, plus that filter is a decent distance from that maf
