Default Anyone have a problem when changing the air filter?

I haven't decided whether or not to do a CAI on my xA, but came to the point of needing to replace my Air Filter (5K+ miles and was getting pretty dirty). I ran down to the local parts store and picked up a Purolator air filter. When I got home I installed the air filter then decided I was going to do some audio work and disconnected my negative battery terminal. When I was finished, I reconnected the battery and started the car everything seemed normal. It wasn't until I went to the gas pump the next couple of times I realized a drastic difference. I was able to push out 340 miles to a tank of gas prior to my maintenance......now I'm only hitting about 177 miles for each full tank of gas!!!! Any one have an idea of why? Should I assume the Purolator filter is utter junk and buy a different kind? Could it be the ECU from disconnecting the battery? Any insight someone could offer would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Default Yeah it was nice!!

I have mostly highway driving in my area, and since my xA is my daily commuter, I'm putting on about 150+ miles a day driving to and from work. I don't like this having to fill up every night stuff, hopefully someone can help me out.

Toyota filters are sort of fluffy and filter well and still flow nice. A lot of aftermarket crap has a filter practically made out of paper which flows horribly. I would get a stock filter.

I max out at about 320 a tank, not sure I want to go any further although I usually have about 2 gallons still in the tank.
