I spotted one today, must be the towel? LoL. Im saying it from leaving the absorber to the new Meguiars towel, no swirls.

This. OP, just make sure you get the soft, flexible Cali water blade. Others might be hard and rigid and will probably scuff or scratch your paint surface.

I too use the absorber. The best thing in the world, I swear. Leaves no streaks or water marks. Win.

or this Touch Microfiber Chamois???

what do you guys use when applying wax or polishes???

online or local auto parts store. i use any microfiber applicator pad for wax, scratch-x, polish, ect.

The foam type applicators are awesome for applying thin (liquid) waxes but thicker paste type wax, you'd probably be better off using a microfiber type.

i only use the water blade to clean off snow off my car and the fog on the inside of my windows...

i've been using microfiber towels for awhile now and its great but dont try to go for the cheap one....its always better to spend a little more for one of better quality especially when it comes to ur car.
