Default Bleeding ABS brakes?

Ok, I feel stupid for asking this question as I've been working on cars for 20 years, but I've never bled the brakes on a car with ABS. Is the process any different than a non ABS equipped vehicle? I need to bleed the brakes on my xB after replacing the brake fluid reservoir.

nope. I haven't done them on my tc, but on every other abs vehicle I've owned, its the exact same process. Can't imagine scion would make it any different

did you remove the resevior or the master cylinder? If you replaced the master cylinder than you should have bench bleeded it first and than attached it. After that you bleed the mastercylinder from the two lines only. If the pedal is still spongy than bleed the rest of the wheels. Also remember that the rear are drums so they could use an adjustment for the pedal to become harder.

There are some ABS contrilled cars that require special bleeding, but in our case thats nothing we have to worry about. The only time we have to really worry about something like that is when we actually replace the abs module.

I helped change out the fluid to synthetic on another xB, and we bled it like normal. I guess as long as the key isn't on the on position, it shouldn't make a difference.
