Default Bouncy sunroof on your tC???

Hey all,
I got my Super White 5 spd tC a week ago today, and love it. I was cruisin home from work today (with the sunroof open :D ) and I looked back out my rear skylight, and noticed the sunroof 'pane' was sort of bouncing. It wasnt alot, about 1/2 inch to 1 inch, but it just struck me as odd. It still works fine, no rattles or noise or anything while going down the hwy. Speaking of that, I also notice that it does make a 'pop' noise (when its open, but not when its closed) when I hit a bump or something...
Anybody else noticed either one of those? I assume its normal, but was just wondering.
OK, I will quit babbling now.
Thanks!
Nick

I think both are normal. Yes other tC ppl have had a lot of rattles & pops from the sun roof. I think the pop might be a very small amount of flex going on with the roof when its open, but thats just a guess.

did you notice that there are two maximum opening settings? one that is about 1-1 1/2 inches from max.. and then the max opening setting..

i think the engineers at scion chose the 1 inch from max setting because if you try it you'll see not as much bouncing.. just a simple geometry idea (pivot/fulcrum).. i've used this position and it doesn't bounce much at all.. try it and see what i'm saying

Yeah, I did notice that, and I do always open it all the way. Havent tried the '1st open setting' yet, but I will bet you are right. *Thinks back to physics 3 years ago...beats head against wall*
Thanks!

bring the car back to the dealership and have them lookup the recent problems with the sunroof....my TC which has been in the shop now 5 times since i bought it a month ago had this problem and i bleieve they fixed it. there are some screws that just get tighted and it fixes any wind noise and that loud popping. Ill have to see if they accually fixed mine because i got it back for no more than a day before it had to go back in the shop because the second tranny that was installed didnt have plugs in it cause they forgot them so i leaked out all the fluid and drove on it without knowing it.
