Bye Bye Waterspots!!
for those of you with waterspot problems on your glass, i recommend this stuff.
http://www.whink.com/rust_stain_remover.htm
i know, wth right? well, my co-worker gave me a bottle today to try it out. his bro in law is a detailer and that's what he uses to treat waterspots. i was kinda sketchy at first but now i'm just trippin' on how great it worked. i washed my windshield, dried it, applied the brown stuff with a terry cloth (using gloves), let it dry to a haze, then buffed it with another terry cloth. i had to go over 2 bad areas 2x but the rest was a breeze. then i washed the windshield again and dried it. my windshield looks brand new!
ok, just wanted to share the knowledge :D

That seems a little scary to me! I'd probably f--- up and spill it on my paint! lol
I use a razor blade to "scrape" my windshield. And some Stoner brand Invisible Glass. It works pretty good for me. I don't know how bad your glass is though.

since we're trading detail tips....this is by far the best cleaner for tires
castrol super clean

the instant you spray it on you will see it turn really, really, really brown and dirty and all the dirt and crap will be in the runoff. it is just crazy...[/img]

I used to work in a detail shop and Whink was like a little secret we kept from the cutomers. You can find it at Longs Drugs for a couple of bucks. I've probably got at least six bottles sitting in my garage right now.
Don't worry about getting it on the paint. As long as you wipe it off it will be fine. I just did my hood of my Sequoia. I had parked my car at a golf course and after a four hour round I came back to find that the sprinkler system had gone on and shot water all over my front end. The spots had turned white from sitting in the sun for four hours. I went home, put on some rubber gloves and went to work on the spots. Took them all off after two applications with no ill effects to the paint. I used regular car wash after I had completed the spot removal.
It works particularly well in the door jams and underhood areas that get neglected when you just do a regular wash and wax on your car instead of the full detail job.
If you use Whink for the first time, you'll be really surprised at the beading action you get from it. Water will just bead right off the paint like you had waxed it.

After reading all the posts, I was getting my shoes on and heading to the store to pick up some...
then I read the MSDS on this product.
"Incompatibility. (Materials to Avoid)
Avoid alkalis and oxidizers, bleaching agents or other chemicals. Also metals and glass."
Thanks for the tips, but I believe I'll pass.
