Default Car got owned by Tree Sap!

Well last week I wash, clayed, and waxed my car. The weather has been nice and sunny so at work I decided to park under a tree to keep things a little cooler. Huge mistake! I went out and noticed that my entire windshield has a mist on it, like it sprinkled or something. It was a mist of tree sap! My entire car is covered with it! I hate it, my car was smooth, but now its sticky!

Any ideas on how to clean it off easily? Thanks...

To remove drops of tree sap you can use alcohol or lacquer cleaner, then
rinse with water. Of course you will have to re-wax that area.

Default clay

If its fresh, u can use a degreaser/bug remover. My brother owns a car wash, and we use the same degreaser to clean the rims, spray on then powerwash bugs off, clean engines and remove fresh sap. Wet the car. Spray the car with degreaser, and wash the car as u normally would. A good degreaser i use is purple power, available at any auto parts store or walmart. There are others that are equivelent.

If you let it bake in the sun, then your going to have problems. U will have to clay it hard, depending on how stubborn it is. THen buff it, and wax it. If your car is black, after buffing it, we us black gold and sponge buff it. Then wax it. Black cars need an extra step to come out perfect.

I am gonna try using a degreaser/ bug remover and hopefully it will work with minimal effort. Anyone else have experience with this?

Last time I had a blob of tree sap it didnt come off even after washing and claying. I ended up using invisible glass and it came right off...

I had the same thing, I was under a tree and it sapped the hell outta the car. Now mind you I drive a rolling brick so I think I spared the driveway of sap for about an hour or so. It's been on my car for about three days. . . well not anymore. I just got back from the local car wash, the one where you can powerwash the car yourself. Normally I try to do everything by hand but I'm at a loss for time. I didn't want the tree sap to stay on any longer. So I pretty much used this little formula. . .

1. high pressure soap
2. high pressure rinse
the end

It got off all the sap that's been on my B for the last three days and my car got washed also. Might not work for everyone as I am constantly cleaning my B with detail spray or a claybar and some wax, but it worked out much better then I thought it would. It only took me 5 minutes to wash. but it took me an hour to dry. . . i hat water spots and dirty windows, rims, panels, license plates, interior. . . stupid tree sap

I havent had the chance to wash my car yet! I did clean all the glass on the tC with invisible glass and it took it off. Had to go over the same spot a couple of times though. My car was just recently waxed so hopefully the tree sap will be easier to take off with a little pressured water. The tree sap spots arent huge, they look like tiny rain mist. Anyways, thanks for all the help! Hopefully everything turns out okay when I wash it tomorrow!
