Clay saved the day

Had some bug splatters on my mirrors that I tried everything on, figured the bug acid ate into clearcoat. BUUUUUT , I just clayed it and presto like new.....happy camper I am.

I recommend Griot's Garage Clay - It's a pretty big chunk - looks about double the size as Mequir's clar bar that they give you...

Be generous with the quick-detail spray when you're claying! The clay needs the lubrication.

Also, make sure you're not presssing down hard when you're using clay - when you first run the clay over your paint and quick-detailer, it will feel like it's kind of "sticky". After a few passes though, the clay will glide across the surface because you've removed the surface crud during the previous few passes with the clay bar.
