Default Cleaning Windows

I've always had problems with cleaning my windows (on my old car too) and having them give that damned smeary look! I'm using an auto glass cleaner that does pretty good, but the paper towels or the soft glass cloth screw it all up.

What should I be using to clean my windows to give them a non-smeary look? This is really annoying.

Try a wet absorber then dry them with a microfiber towel, the same on the outside but clay them first

A squeegee and Stoners is all you need. Perfect glass everytime.

I don't see how newspaper would work. Just tried it and it made it worse!

lol maybe it's the product you're using. for newspaper, you have kind of crumple them up and then use it.

you could always do what most tint shops use for the outside. a mix of 1/5 rubbing alcohol and 4/5 water

The only alcohol I have handy are some Smirnoff Twisteds lol.

I'm probably going to hit Pep Boys and get some more cleaning supplies for the car, and see about getting that Stoners stuff. Maybe some microfiber towels as well?

microfiber towels would help as well. i just use rubbing alcohol. it's like what? a buck and it lasts so long because of the mix. but you can't use it inside if you have tints.

waffle weave microfiber towels, and on secondary uses, make sure you wash them correctly... meaning preferably a liquid detergent, one without perfumes or dyes, and wash them by themselves (not with other clothes) on hot water.

Oh, and absolutely no fabric softners!! good luck

On the outside glass, just try washing, claying, washing again, using your favorite glass sealant (I just use rain-x for the time being until I use up my bottle then I'll just use Aquawax on them), then washing one last time to eliminate streaks from the protectant, then dry with a leafblower - this way, you're not touching the glass at all, and thus, no streaks! :D

Any auto parts store. I have also seen it at Target. Look for the bright yellow cap. I also tend to think the aerosol works better than the pump spray.

I got my can of Stoners at Pep Boys for about.. $6 I think? It's the best window cleaner I've used yet!

Yea they're saying clay bar the windows. Not sure why you'd want to wax your windows though..

A wax, like a real wax, would probably smear your windows or otherwise not bond well but sealants bond to almost all finishes on cars (even plastic trim and tires some times) so sealing your windows is a good way to keep them clean (just like keeping your paint waxed helps in cleaning.) I think though that using glass cleaners might seriously hurt your sealant's protectant. But I mean, if you've sealed your windows you'd just need a microfiber and some water to clean your windows.
