Anyone else have an xB ine the snow belt that kinda hiccups when it starts cold?

 

Yeah, Mine has done its "hickup" start once this week- But usually it starts great! I mean it was 30 degrees out- so what do you expect?

 

Yeah, when it's really cold mine starts up and runs at like 800rpm for 30-45sec before it revs up 2500rpm like it should on a cold engine start, Maybe next oil change i should change my oil weight.... any segs?

 

What I mean by hicup is the fact that when the engine cranks over- its not as smooth as it usually is.....But once it starts, the engine idles around 1200-1500 RPM>>

yeah, Well no duh! Right now Its 30 degrees out ( Im In Southern OR.)- Engines obviously will start and sound different when the temperature outside is hot, warm, or cold...

 

here in new york we've had some cold nights, i've had the hiccup.
im still worried about how it'll behave in the kinda snow we tend to get here.
any snow belters have any experiencce ??
should i drag my old beater s-10 outta the moth ***** ?

 

i get a lil hickup too have you also noticed that (on manuals) when you shift from 1-2 and from 2-3 it kinda jitters almost like small jults.... like lose motor mounts but not as bad.... anyone else have that prob... i have 16000 miles on mine... and it only does it around 3500 to 4000 rpm

 

its because the engine and tranny are cold! notice that you cant get it to go into first unless your at a compleate stop!- but after 5-10 mins of driving it will go into first if your slowly rolling- things warmed up!

 

Cool. I'll just hafta see what happens when it gets really cold. Just making sure I don't have the only one.

i happened to me today... i was like
it was like 60.. maybe i didnt crank the key correctly.

 

you guys up north should get a block heater. SHould keep the engine nice and warm for the cold mornings

 

we have 4 seasons where i live and it starts up fine in all of them,i just let it warm up more in winter,no probs..
