Default In curiosity of the dealership decal

I really hate the dealership decal that they put on the car when you purchase it. It's tacky and uuuggglaaayyy. Is there a safe way to take it off without hurting the paint or the body of my tC? I want it off and see no point of it being on there.

Leave the sticker facing out in the sun all day, or use a blowdryer to heat up. Gently use your finger nail or palstic spatlua and peal off. Try some car wax to buff out any left over resdue. Thats what worked for me...

Or take it to the dealership and ask them to compensate you for advertising... either that or remove the decal for you.

funny, in CA dealers do not do that. they use license plate frames that one can remove. i have never seen a CA car with a dealer sticker on it. ( i take it back....carmax does it).

first of all...is it already on the car ?? did u pick it up, i take it by the replies that we are to assume this is true.

i for one told my dealer the day i signed the contract way before delivery " i better not see any kind of dealer sticker or anything resembling something like that on my car" and i took delivery completely clean i had them even put on my own license plate frames that i wanted not their dumb ones...i think more people should think of that before delivery dates, i agree its not right to advertise for the dealer!! (for free)

i made sure to tell them that i didn't want any advertisements on my car for the dealership. they obided, but they put a small sticker on the inside of the windshielf with thier logo on it, i overlooked it when i picked up the car, oh well, it's not too bad.
bring it back to the dealer and make them remove it

Around here. more and more dealers are abondoning stickers, badges and frames for actual real live PAINT. They're actually painting their names on the tailgate of the cars they sell...
When I filed out the paperwork for my tC, I told them "before I agree to anything official, I want to double check that there won't be any dealer names/logos anywhere on the car, right?".
The guy replied that they put plate frames on their used cars, but don't do anything on the new ones... What a relief... if only all dealers understood how tacky they all look...

Mine actually had a decal just above the tC on the back and also license plate frames on the front AND back. All came off without a problem though, but that's just so lame.

At the end of '68 I ordered my first new car (and got it January 6, 1969). It was delivered with a metal dealer logo RIVETED to the trunk lid.

Since then I've ALWAYS put a notice on the bottom of any new car order that the dealer agrees not to attach any dealer identification to the vehicle prior to delivery other than license plate frames.

I put that on there before I and the dealership sign the order, and if that's a problem for them I'll go elsewhere.

None of them have found it a big enough problem to lose a sale over.

(Though one dealership DID put a tag on my new Explorer's hatch before delivery, and took it to their bodyshop to have it removed before I would accept it. The 'dealer prep' folks were not told 'no tag' and just did it from habit.)

Any dealership will remove it if you ask them to. (According to the salesman I talked to.)

yeah mine had a sticker on it even though i told them not to. The salesmans car was parked next to where my car was pulled up and on the way out i peeled the sticker right off and put it on his window. He saw me and laughed.

( your fingernail is the best "tool" for removing vinyl stickers)
