Dictionary of engine terminology?
Does anybody have a basic website that'll allow me to look up different engine parts like "ground kit," "cold air intake," and such? I would like to know what each part does, specifically, not just that "they make your car faster." Anybody with a legit website, not too artsy-fartsy, not too basic either, please let me know.
Grounding kit improves your electrical system components by reducing electrical resistance and improving terminal connections. (kindof rudimentary explain, but all u need to know really..not a power gain)
Cold air intake replaces your car's stock air intake system with a hi flow system that draws in cool air from below the engine bay (air filter usually located behind fr bumper, wheel well or inside fender). Cooler air is denser and contains more oxygen (a main ingredient in combustion). Therefore when your engine takes in cooler air its able to cram more oxygen into your combustion chambers, resulting in better combustion and more power.
I don't know of a site off hand. I'm not a mechanic, but If u have any more questions about motors, variable valve timing, etc...feel free to PM me, Ill do my best to convey my limited understanding.
