Default DIY roof rattle fix?

From the search that I've done on these forums, it is apparent that the roof /sunroof rattle is coming froma loose screw. Since the repair involves just ightening the screw, I figure, why cant I do this my self instead of buggin the dealer?

Does anyone know which screw has to be tightened? I am assuming it is one of the screws that are visible when u open the moonroof, the 6-pointed starshaped ones.

Anyone know exatly what to do ?

I believe it is under the track mechanism, and requires an angled screwdriver to get to it... mine does not have the issue, so I havent checked. A toyota tech explained it on here a while back, but I cannot remember the name of the thread.

I had to take my to the dealer as the torque did not fix the problem. Not sure what he did but he tried the TSB and it still rattled. He played with it some more and no rattle. 8 months and counting......

Any idea to find out EXACTLY what he did? I still have rattle and a loud "POP" sound when I hit inclines or bumps occassionally and they said they dont know what to do to fix it,a nd they already performed the TSB..

Sorry for not getting back to this sooner. You can have your service people call the service people at McDonough Scion in Staunton VA. They should have the detail on what was done to fix. Though yesterday, I heard some rattling and applied some lubricant which seem to help. Also seems to help is you open and close again. Seal is better??
