Emergency Kit for your Scion
Something Everyone should have is a set of stuff to fix the little things with your vehicle if a problem arises. The sad truth is proably that most of us dont have that sort of thing, so I figured what the hell lets see what we can come up with.
Spare Fuses (Bought the LittelFuse Super Value Pack 40 Asst. Mini Fuses from 3A to 30A and a fuse Tester/Puller, about $15 @ Auto Zone)
Tire repair (Slime Tire Tackle Kit, came with 4 plastic valve stem covers, 4 aluminum hex shaped valve stem covers, some kind of valve stem tool, 4 valve stem insides, and a mini tire pressure gauge with keyring, all in a little plastic tackle box. $5 @ Auto zone)
Tools (havent found a good kit yet but Auto Zone had some kit under the name of Street RidZ, no idea who makes it, any one have any ideas feel free to leave them)
Spare Bulbs (Spares from when I eventualy switch out to Silverstars cheaper than getting a ticket for failure to maintain equipment)
Battery (Bought a great Portable Jumpstarter/Air Compressor at walmart for about $30. Much safer alternative to some whackjob hooking up your jumper cables wrong.)
If you have stuff you wanna add feel free. I know how bad it sucks being stuck on the highway when no one will stop and help.

Good thread, this one - here's the emergency kit I've kept in every car since my first as a teenager. Whole thing fits in a small messenger's bag I keep in the trunk.. except the blanket, which makes a great "trunk mat".
- First aid kit. Yes, it's not the car.. but man, it's convenient to have. My tC even came with one with the owner's manual.
- Small tool kit, w/clamps and gaffer's/jointer's tape.
(Small and large phillips and flathead screwdrivers, small wrench kit, hose sealing tape, hose clamps (pair), zip ties (set), channelocks, wire cutters, electrical tape.) Should be enough tools to do any 'field repair' to limp in to a gas station.
- 'Car Blanket' - some sort of thermal wrap. I use a quilt my fiance' got from her mother - even in summer, it's good to have something to wrap up in should the need arise. Having gotten stuck in a snowbank in winter.. I learned this one the hard way.
- Auxilliary power booster - the kind you plug into a cigarette lighter or attach straight to the battery. Makes a short jump on a somewhat-dead battery easier than hunting for a redneck like me with cables. Even if you have cables, it lets you have a go without having to find another /car/.
- Jumper Cables - A heavy duty, 10' or longer set. Doesn't matter if your burn 'em up, but it's always wise to have a set.
- Collapsable 2-gallon camper's water jug - Collapses to a tiny bundle, and lets you haul water.. more useful than you might think.

they sell that small container that can actually be added to the fuel tank and the car can run for a few more miles in case you run out of gas. It s small bottle that won't take up alot of space.
you can go into you toyota dealer and ask for a land cruiser tool kit from an fj40... or some of the newer fj's like the fj60 or fj62...it comes with wrench, screwdrivers, and much more ...and the best part they are all stamped "toyota" or you can buy the tools individually...also an fj40/55/60/or 61 land cruiser tool kit also comes with a bag to hold all the tools in. go to this web site to see what i mean: http://www.jtoutfitters.com/product_...7f290cb710c93d
The only things that I carry with me are a can of tire slime, a vacuum/compressor combo tool thingy, and the OEM first aid kit. The spare tire has been removed so if its more than a leak, AAA it is.
