I just drove my tC over 6K... and all of suddern I just realized that my engine is kinda loud... especially when I drive over 80...(ye.. its not Lexus.. but still....) I know tC has same engine as Camry... One of my friend drives Camry and he used to turn on engine again even though it was already on....

I usually shift at 4K and raced few times before I drove over 1500 mile... maybe that caused loud engine sound... Shall I go to dealer? Is there anything I should do?

r u using the OD? (thinking manual has OD)

 

OD is any gear that has less than a 1:1 gear ratio
If he's shifting into 5th I'm pretty sure hes using the OD.
xA/xB manuals have 2 OD's
The reason your engine is so loud is most likely because you need more soundproofing on the firewall.

 

Camry's and Lexus' have more sound deadening than the tC.

 

Don't expect lexus style sound deadening in your car. I only wish my motor was louder.
