Default at the gas pump... does YOURS click 99/100 times?

everytime i get gas.. like u know.. with all cars..
u just click it. set it and let it do it's thing..
but with my xb. i've noticed.. no matter what
gas station i go to, where i go to, what kinda gas
or whatever amount it'll stay clicked(fueling) for a few
secs.. then i gotta manually hold it.. soemtimes
even like 1/2 way because if i pull it all the way
open.. it just clicks like its FULL when i barely put
1-2 galloons in my near empty tank.

i'm getting sick of this. but i just wanted to know
if other people are having this issue.. I TRIED
all the gas stations out there locall..
from those private ones.. to arco, chevron,
shell, 76... EVEN a texaco and a that other one
CITGO or whatever 7-11 always has..

its just annoying..
i've tried to like push the nozzle towards
the right, the left,, aim it more up.. more in/down..
like more OUTWARD.. like even turning the damn nozzle gun
upside down.. it doesn't work.. i always gotta stand there.
thank god our tanks our small..

PLEASE POST AND REPLY to this =)

I have the same Prob...Eric m. didn't beleive me...Turning the whole nozzle upside down has worked for me though. I just came back from pumping gas at costco and I had no prob and the price is good...I guess I might just keep going there...I wonder if that's cheap quality gas though :?

Default Mine does it sometimes...

My xA does it sometimes. It helps if you remove the cap and wait for 3 minutes or so to release the pressure.

my box does the same thing...what i do is hold the pump at a certain angle...just so that there is a little crack to let air in and out...cause i guess its the press which is clickin the pump...soo if you let some pressure out...you should be aight...but i just hate holding the damn pump the entire time i'm there...

I have only used union76 (unocal) gas and have never experienced the trouble y'all are describing. The gas nozzle does not have any kind of rubber boot or sleeve that requires a seal to the fill tube, therefore the tank can "breath" and not build up pressure. Does this make any sense?

If you try shoving the top of the pump all the way in it'll sometimes fix it, or it may be too far in so pull it out a little bit and it'll fix it. I had the problem once and I pulled it out a bit and it was taken care of. It has to do with the angle of the inlet to the gas tank. What's happening is the gas is hitting against a lip inside and not draining down fast enough that makes the pump think it's full. Try it out. Worked for me!

Damn....i have that same problem :? ...only with certain gas stations. For me it only happens at privately owned independent stations though which i only went for gas cause i was very desperate. I mostly go to chevron, mobil, or arco which i don't have a problem pumping my gas at.

i have tried all angles, all positions..
its just tiresome trying so hard just to get
gas.. and i have tried to PULL back that
rubber splash thingy on the pumps that have it..i'll try that
leave a gap for air thing..

but waiting 3 mins to DEpressurize just to get gas
is absurd! thats gonna take forever! hahaha it might
just work. i tried getting gas a few times with the engine on
just to releave the pressure, that worked a LIL.

Damn, I thought it was just me. I'm having the same problem. I was just filling up my truck and my wife was next to me filling up the XB and she could not keep the thing pumping. I told here that she's been driving for this long and still cant figure it out? So I proceeded to do it and it did the same damn thing to me.

Default toyota thing

its a weird toyota thing. i had a 92 camry once and it did the same thing every once in a blue moon. even the new cars here on the lot do it every once in a while.
