It depends on the quality of gas and the temp of the day. The higher the temp-the more fumes, the lower quality gas generally makes more fumes. If your Karma sucks that day you may be trying to pump in gas faster than the vent and fill tube can handle it will click off. I've only had this problem a couple of times and after looking at the fill pipe size it's easy to see why. Filling at half throttle worked for me.

I had the problem... but the little old asian guy at my gas station told me to turn the nozzle sideways and it won't shut off... Since i've been filling with the nozzle sideways (on stations that it clicks) I havent had a problem filling at all... sounds odd but it worked for me :D

Lucky is living in NJ, where fuel is cheap, and they pump it for you. Ill say no thanks when ( if ) my RS1 gets here, and pump it myself.

It is so embarrassing to be filling up your new car and have gas problems. People look at me like "woman, you aren't supposed to top it off!" I worked at a gas station. I know that. But I swear, I ain't topping it off! Everyone's already looking at your car and when you are having trouble with it, it's humiliating.

Depressurization takes 3 Seconds not 3 minutes.

Just stand there and pump the gas like the old folks used to, it won't kill you!

yeah, same problem, I figured out that to stop this, all you need to do it set the auto pump on the first latch, not the one that will hold it down all the way, THEN you go and push the grade that you want, and it won't stop. Usually takes a bit longer to fill up, But atleast, I don't need to stay there and hold it..

Hope this helps

i know this is kind of late but I had a a Dodge Shadow that did the same thing. If you slide the nozzle out just a little it will run with no problems. I think the problem is a bend or something in the filler neck and when the pump is all the way in it splashes back and sets off the pump cut off.

Just my idea, I dunno if my XB will do it. It's not ehre yet.
