Default How to remove FRONT ROTOR on 09XB2?

did a search and well didn't come up with much on the xb2.

It seems that the large hub bolt is holding on the front brake rotor. I was going to have the rotors turned with my new pads I'm installing.

Am I missing something. It really looks like that large hub bolt has to come off. It looks like a 12pt bolt somewhere around 1 1/4" or so.

thanks for quick answers. I was needing this done today.

I'm going crazy, everyone thinks this this should slide off and I would to but I'm looking at this and it doesn't seem like its going to w/o that bolt off.

I've scraped around where there should be a seam with a screw driver and there is none that I can see. both are exactly the same. I feel no movement, no vibration, it just seems solid, car is garaged with 60k on it.

That nut actually is for the cv axle and should not be removed unless you are replacing the axles or a bearing etc. Typically the rotors should come right of but I see there is a lot of rust which is holding the rotor to the hub if you have a rubber mallet hit the rotor from the backside spray some rust penetrant through the holes where your wheel studs are and that should help break it loose. You can also get a bolt that will thread into the threaded hole of the rotor and pop it loose or get a metal hammer and hit the rotor around the studs on the front side.

well hey, got the rotors off. the bolt did the trick, it was an M8 x1.25 x 20, which was what was recommended on a video I saw.

I feel kinda dumb, I've worked on many cars for years, I just physically couldn't see a line between the hub and the rotors. Rust has its way of welding the seams together to look like one. Also I guess my dead blow was a bit too nice for the job lol.

thanks for your help guys.
