dude!! i just clayed my tC and its hella smooth!!!! dude, you have to do it to your car if u get the time.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Claying your finish does not remove swirl marks. It removes contaminants that have bonded to the surface that you cannot remove by simply washing the car. If you want to remove swirls you need to use an abrasive polish, which is best applied by machine.

THe only prep you have to do to the car is wash it. Remember, though... clay bar is a prep tool itself, it is not your final step! You do it so that you can make your paint that much cleaner for wax. Finish up your process with polish (if you know what you're doing) and wax!

 

I swear by my Clay Bar. It help with my **** tendendencies toward my paint.
Finish it off with some Meguires NXT and your done.

Fogot to mention... Clay Bar does nothing for swirl marks but you must use it prior to using a low speed rotory buffer (not orbital. it is for applying wax). I also only use foam bonnets with the buffer to reduce swirl marks on the final buff. Use fine polishing compound and be careful around the edges. Also use ONLY micro fiber towels.
