THe only prep you have to do to the car is wash it. Remember, though... clay bar is a prep tool itself, it is not your final step! You do it so that you can make your paint that much cleaner for wax. Finish up your process with polish (if you know what you're doing) and wax!

Fogot to mention... Clay Bar does nothing for swirl marks but you must use it prior to using a low speed rotory buffer (not orbital. it is for applying wax). I also only use foam bonnets with the buffer to reduce swirl marks on the final buff. Use fine polishing compound and be careful around the edges. Also use ONLY micro fiber towels.
