Default Main. Req. light

Today i noticed that after i start the car, the main. req. light comes on and blinks 6 times and goes away. Should I be worried?

read your manual. thats why you have it.

its supposed to warn you that an oil change is needed soon. after a certain mileage point, it will turn on all the time and you'll need to reset it.

again all information is in the manual.

oil change isn't for another 3500 miles.

The light turns on based on the Toyota recommmended 5000 mile oil change intervals. Ignore the light if you change at different mileage intervals.

If you're smart enough to remember to change your oil without a light reminding you, just go ahead and shut it up.

I think the proper process is:

1. Shut off car
2. Hold down the trip reset
3. Still holding the trip reset, turn the car onto accessories (the one where the radio goes on)
4. Keep holding the button until it's done flashing.

I think it does this:

-
--
---
----
-----
------
00000

00000

00000

Off.

Oh, and read your manual. There's all sorts of good stuff in there

Actually it's

Hold trip button
Turn car to "on" the one after the ACC
then you will see the meter goto ----, ---. --. -
then it will goto 000000 after that you should be all set to go
