Default Maint req...?

I just bought my 08 Tc and after driving from Ft Stewart to orlando, about halfway through the trip the maint req light came on. Is there a hard wire way to get the blink code from the computer like on my n4 blazer with a paperclip? I cant believe im already having issues

its not a Check Engine Light. Its a reminder that your oil needs to be changed. It comes on either 500 or 1000 miles before you hit the recommended 5000 mile oil change mark. You can reset it via the directions in the owners manual. no worries

it could just be that when the last oil change was made it wasn't reset which will cause the light to turn on.
to check this

turn you car off with key in off position
hold the ODO button and keep it held
while holding the button turn the key to the on position but don't start the car
u should see a ------ start to count down as
------
-----
----
---
--
-
and then 000000
and thats it you reset it

^^ and before you do that process, briefly turn the ignition on and check that its one the ODO mode and not A/B trip ODO.

Also could have been found by Searching. That's why there's a big red search button up top.
