Default Mobil Oils

I'm trying to decide between Mobil 1 Clean 7500, Mobil 1, and Mobil 1 Extended Performance but I have no idea which one is best. Is Mobil 1 Extended Performance the same thing as regular Mobil 1 just with an additive that makes it last longer? Is Mobil 1 Clean 7500 better than the the 2? Sorry for the noob questions, but this is my 1st time changing my own oil . Thanks in advance guys!

How often do you plan on changing your oil? I would think the normal Mobil 1 would be great if you change every 5,000 or less.

Well, it depends, Id the bottle says to change every 5000 miles, I will. I'm mainly womndering if there is a major difference between normal Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 extended performance besides the fact that extended performance lasts longer. And also, is Mobil 1 Clean 7500 worth looking into?

There is no price difference so I buy either or.

Doesnt matter they are all syn. I mean I know everyone and their brothers with turbo supra's to Mr2T that run regular syn mobil oil and no problems and thats what I been running mine, and I am at 33k and no problems. No burning or leaking, the amount I pour in is the amount that comes out. I changed every 3-5k since I can afford it and I change the filter so mind as well change the oil.

I switched over to Mobil1 Exteded Performance at 3,000 Miles. Im going to change it around every 5k miles. Though it is rated at 15,000 miles for EP, so I may change it at every 10k incrament.

Acually extended performance costs more. I went to Walmart today and got a 5qt container of extended performance for about $27.50. Then I went to Autozone and got a mobil 1 extended performance filter for $10.99.

Exactly right on Bro!

Sure you could go more than 5K but why risk it??? You must remember all the stuff the oil has to do. It gets contaminated with blow-by, moisture and other funky stuff. Why leave it in there for longer than the 5K? Even using Mobil 1 and a new filter costs less than paying for a regular oil change. Better safe than sorry.

I just wish Mobil 1 would come out with the TECH 4 Trans fluid for our cars.

Seriously, read this study! http://neptune.spacebears.com/cars/s.../oil-life.html
If Mobil one can hold up for that long in an LS1, it should have no problem in a Toyota! I am all for taking care of my car, but why waste money?

Acually, I did some math and having your oil changed by a shop turns out to be about the same price as changing it yourself with Mobil 1. 5qts of oil and a filter cost me about $40, this lasts for about 15k miles. Having my oil changed by a shop cots about $15-$20 and lasts from 5-7k. Changing your oil yourslef acually turns out to cost a bit MORE but at least you know you're putting quality oil and a great filter in. You also have to add in the increased gas milage. I plan on changing my oil next weekend and overall I think it's worth the extra time and money to change your oil yourself using Mobil 1 products.
