Default my first oil change on my own...

just wondering if i needed to know any xb specific info like specific oil filter sizes, etc. i heard the oil filter on an xb is really small. how many quarts do i need to put in? so and on and so forth. any help is awesome. thanks!

i don't remember the number of quarts, but the info is in you're owner's manual. oil filter size, you get from the auto parts store. make sure you have a fitting filter wrench to take off your old filter.

3.9 quarts if you are doing a full oil and filter change.
around 1.5 to 1.9 if you are only changing the filter and adding oil.

Default My first

I just did my first on my '05 xB and it was easy. The hard part was finding an oil filter cap wrench to fit the friggin' small filter. I finally found one at Pep Boys that fits. I just threw in 4 quarts (who can be bothered with 3.9 c'mon). I used that new Mobil 5000 oil and a SuperTech Synthetic Media filter.

BTW...because of it's verticle allignment, you can fill the oil filter with some oil BEFORE you screw it on the engine. That way you wont have a "dry" start when you fire her up!
