Default Not a clear bra...

...but a standard black one. The ones that cover the front bumper and a small slice of the hood.

Do you have one? What brand do you like? Does it fit on there really snug?

I personally feel that the 3M clear bra's are well worth the money. For one, they're not going to swirl the front end's paint by taking the bra on and off all the time. Worse, if you decide to leave one of those black ones on permanantly, the paint under it won't fade with the rest of the car and that section will be off color. If the paint on the car is of a decent quality and doesnt fade over time, the area under the black bra will collect dust and other dirt and grime (especially if it rains on it) and will look really bad when its finally taken off. and sheesh, u can hardly see the clear ones, why the heck would you want an unsightly black thing on the front of your car?

My sister had one of the black ones on the front of an old Camaro (well it was new at the time) and when she took it off right before she sold it, the paint underneath was totally F'ed up. She had to have the front of the car repainted. Still boggles my mind why people buy those damn things, they're uglier than sin.

As long as the owner isn't a complete moron who leaves the thing on for years without taking it off for washes, waxes, etc....it won't have a negative effect on the car. Just use some common sense.

You calling my sister a complete moron?! She did take the thing off for washes, dick. If you think for one second that sand and other **** doesn't get into the bra and rubs constantly against the cars bumper, you're a complete fool.

Don't come on here and take a swing at someone unless you have the complete story. Ask any serious car enthusiast or anyone at a body shop and see if they recommend using a strap-on car bra.

Bras are not bad for the paint IF they fit tight. I had a bra on my focus for 3.5 years that I took off every other car wash and cleaned throughly- I had ZERO problems!

MOST people dont take them off regulary and sand and dirt gets trapped behind them= paint problems........This is why bodyshops DO NOT reccomend them. Especially with fresh paint.

With that said, I think a full bra on my xB would be compleatly lame!

I've got a Clear Bra from Chad @ RockBlocker.com. Yes not cheap - Was it
worth it? Most definately. I don't have to take it off when it's wet outside or
to get the dirt and dust off it or when I want to wash the xb. Would I do it
again on our next new car -- in a heart beat -- no questions asked. Check
into it.

I would never buy a black strap-on bra and leave it on for an extended period of time. I do intend to buy one though. We are getting a Colgan. As far as strap-on bras go, I think they are probably the best. I only want to use it for long trips. This summer we will be driving the xB form here in PA down to SC and back. I will make sure the car AND THE INSIDE OF THE BRA are very clean before putting it on. People have problems with strap-on bras if they don't fit right (Colgans fit great) or if they get dirt underneath them. As long as they fit good and it's clean underneath, you won't have any problems.

No, you shouldn't have to worry about it hurting anything for short-term use....as long as the car and the inside of the bra are clean when you put it on. The damage is done when dirt gets in between the two and then rubs if the bra doesn't fit well.
