OEM brake pads - question revised
So, I picked up a new set of pads.
I was just going to simply "pad slap" the thing and call it a day. Now that I am reading more about this, it seems you either need to get new rotors or at least have them turned. Not everyone shares this opinion, but I just wanted to get a feel of what everyone else thought.
I am trying to get this done this after noon. Any insight would be great.

as far as the brake light coming on..... the car has no way of knowing how far the pads have gone, and it cant be preset like an oil change. the problem is people have different patterns, some ride their brakes others dont use them.
