Default Oil Change (07 tC)

I was talking to a guy friend about changing my oil and he told me that I'd have to go under the car and drain the old oil, change oil filter, and then add the new oil (of course). Do I really need to do the first two steps or can I just add the oil? If I do I don't mind I'm just curious since this is my first oil change.
I was looking threw the OM because I thought I saw steps on how to change your oil but I couldn't find it. Thanks.

lol, yeah, it is an oil change, not oil refill. pretty much the only fluids you add without draining and/or flushing are gas and windshield washer fluid.

everything else is out with the old, in with the new.

When I bought my tC, Scion provides the first three oil changes for free, ask the dealer.

Yeah, you need to drain the old oil and put in a new filter. There are several videos on YouTube on oil changes. Or just take it to a Mom and Pop oil change place. Just don't go to Jiffy Lube. Also tire rotation and changing your cabin filter might be warranted. Hope that helps.
