Default OIL FILTER FOR TC!!!!

I know I know...I did a search and all I got was a couple od treads talking about what kind of oil(regular or synthetic).........

I am only interested in the OEM part# oil filter.

I heard there are a couple of OEM filters that varies in size that can fit the TC...

90915-yzzf2 90915-yzza2 90915yzza1 ....Which is the best for the TC?

Also, How many quarts of oil ??? 4 quarts for a oil change?

Thx

as far as ? quarts its in your manual. what kind of oil its 5w-30, as far as type of oil, it depends.

if you cant find the thread just look at k&n's site and look for the part number for your car and use their cross reference search, all you have to worry about is thread and clearance.

good luck

I don't think you'll need synthetic unless you go turbo or have upgraded engine mods.

synthetic doesn't break down. regular oil breaks down after a couple thousand miles

it doesn't increase horsepower, it reduces friction so more power gets to the wheels

I switched to it to prevent coking in the turbo and reduce oil temp. Throw in some Lucas and your set.

BTW, Wix oil filters are fantastic.

i've used all those filters...

toyota filters are not tat great.

they would only let me reach 5k miles before its starts cookin the oil.

im runnin on a fram filter now and its seems to pass 5k miles beautifully.

imma switch up to pure1 next to see the results, then mobil1

BTW i use mobil 1 5w-30

both the yzza2 and yzza1 will fit. dont use the yzza2. use the yzza1 beccause it is a slightly longer filter. the yzza1 filter is used for the gts-Celicas whereas he yzza2 filter is used for the regular celica. the tC comes with the 1006 denso filter from Japan which is the long one. the 1006 is hard to find in the states and dealer. also the yzzf1 filter also fits but is made in thailand whereas the yzza1 is made in the U.S. they are both essentialy the same filter. Yes, 4 quarts is what you use if you change the oil and filter out. i like to use like 3 and 3/4 quarts. then top off afterwards as needed because sometimes 4 quarts takes you slightly over the full mark on the dipstic. hope this helps.

Thanks, Just changed it. I used the YZZA1...........

I should have thought about putting 3.75 quarts and not all 4 quarts........

dang, I need to check it in the morning since the place where I live is not flat.....
