Default Paint chip and scratch repair

Hi guys, I need some advice on how to repair a paint chip I got from a self-car wash I went to a while back. The hose hit the car a lil too hard i guess and took off a good chunk of paint and then left a small blue line on it too.

Thats on the passenger side rear view mirror and i'm hoping to get some touch-up paint and fix it if I can, and what can I use to get rid of that blue line?

Also, what do you guys recommend for getting rid of key scratches..

Any help is appreciated. Thanks! [/img]

The Blue is just a pigment transfer that should come right off. I've found that a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works well for taking out little smudges and blemishes without the use of any chemicals.
My car got hit on the side by a baseball and left a white streak that came right off with the eraser and a gentle scrub.

Personally for the rest I would get it detailed at a shop cause I don’t have a buffer, or the time. I get a full out detailing done to take care of it every other spring, and regular wash and wax care in between.

Hope that helps!

A little elbow greese and the smudges should come off. Use some good polish to try and get the scratches off if they aren't too deep.

key scratches dont seem to be bad, how deep are they ? You can probably use some megiurs scratch x and then use the clay bar and some good wax to top it off. I personally use meguirs wax clay bar kit.

this one looks pretty deep, theres two ways you can fix this, of course the cheapest is to do some touch ups with factory paint , or repaint the whole thing.

Well if this was a current post, I would say go get Meguiars Ultimate Compound and go to town with it. Made for stuff like this!

Haha, thanks for the replies guys. I've tried to use touch up paint on the 2 spots and failed miserably, lol. I'll see what else i can do. I'll post a picture of it later.

I was moreso looking at the bumper... That mirror is definitely a bit much for anything. It would have to be touch-up painted, wet-sanded, and polished. It still won' be perfect, but much better.

Its an old post but to the scratch X reference; I think those scratches are too deep. I've tried scratch X on my shadow mica and it works on LIGHT blemishes at most.

Kinda related question. I have a pretty deep scratch in my plastic bumper. I have since filled it but the bumper will either have to be spot painted ot the whole thing redone. Anyone know how much each way would cost?

touch up paint will work but wont look as perfect as it was before the scratch or you can have the whole thing repainted, i got mine done for about 175-250. took about 1 day of labor aswell. turned it in thursday morning, got it back friday afternoon.

I had a pretty deep scratch on my hatch and my place charged $300 for the work and paint. Couldn't be more happy with the work.

Poor Boys SSR 1 and 2 in combination with Nu Finish Scratch Remover works like a charm.

Do SSR1, then 2, then 1 again, then a couple coats of scratch remover and its gone.
