i believe that scratchx only fills in scratch
just follow the directions on the tube, if it doesnt get out the scratchs
they are prolly too deep for that
someone please correct me if im wrong, but i think thats it

try www.autopia.org

It's a website dedicated to detailing. They have a very extensive library of articles on how to deal with scratches and swirl marks.

I don't know if they cover scratch x directly and how best to use it.

Well, you could try reading the directions!!

After that, you could check out the Meguiars forums:

ScratchX is the most effective way to remove fine scratches and swirls from your paint by hand. This product is guaranteed to deliver the highest results possible by hand and it will also remove surface contaminants and enhance paint color. Unlike many of today's scratch removing formulas, Meguiar's ScratchX will not leave more scratches than it takes out. Use for quick touch ups on one section, or revive you car's look with an application to the entire vehicle.

If scratchX cannot remove a scratch or blemish, only machine applied professional formulas ca do the job. Please call our technical help center toil free for further assistance on how to restore your finish. 1-800-347-5700

ScratchX is only effective on very light clear-coat scratches.
I found that if scratch is little deeper, you need to use alot of ScratchX .
But ScratchX will only make scratches only less noticeable. It will not eliminate scratches unless they are light clear-coat scratches.
ScratchX will not eliminate deep scratches beyond the clear-coat.

Hopefully you don't have scratches beyond the clear coat!!
