NuFinish......top bang for the buck
OMG I think I thew up a little.

It looks like new because it's full of silicon and other stuff you absolutly shouldn't
be putting on your paint!

A real protectant doesn't contaminate the paint and keep you from putting anything
over it. I'd love to see what a body shop has to do if they ever need to touch up
your paint after using NuFinish!

There are no shortcuts to a good clean well protected finish.
how did it taste?

listen yeah yeah paint is organic ..however I have never seen Nufinish have a negative on any paint....... I know people have used on their cars for 20yrs...and yes I have managed a body shop....and a highly waxed car is a pain in the a$$ too when touching up or repainting...FYI

If I still had my membership to Consumer Reports I would post up the link. But about few years ago "Nu Finish" was rated their number one pick best buy. I highly respect Consumer Reports with their unbiased research. IMO, I think Nu Finish does a better job on slightly aged vehicles.

My current favorite is "Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax" paste with the engineered synthetic polymers. It simply looks amazing on somewhat darker paints! At about 12 bucks a can, it's not a bad deal.

Has anyone heard of Menzernas? what are your feelings on that polish/protection system? My friend used it on his mustang and its like looking into a mirror. I don't know a lot about waxes and such but if anyone could fill us in on Menzernas..I'd appreciate it...btw..i hear its like 70 bucks a bottle.

Spray on? I think you may have bought the wrong product. NXT wax comes in a paste (round can) and a liquid (Tech wax) in a squeeze bottle. The NXT products that come in spray bottles are their speed detailer or the spray wax which are to be used as a touch-up between waxing.

I have the exact bottle of wax shown on the Zymbol site, I picked to up at the local Auto Zone, I dont remember what it cost, but it wasn't $50 it was more like $10. I wansn't impressed at all, it didn' work any better than all the other crap on the shelf. I would definetely go witht he Meguiars NXT.

This is the 50.00 can of Zymol. You need to go over entire car with the HD cleanser first, then the wax. It's a lot of work. The bottle of Zymol that you see at the auto parts store or Walmarts auto section for about 12.00 is made by Turtle Wax. It is actually very good wax for the price and I have had very good results with it. I think someone had talked about Zaino being a wax ( carnuaba) but it is'nt. It is a polymer.
Polymers I think are a little easier to apply than a wax, and they last longer than a wax, but all things being equal a wax will outshine a polymer.( high quality wax)

Zymol also makes a wax called Vintage Estate Glaze and it sells for $1500.00 for 22 ounces. The good news is that they will refill the container for life.

I clicked on your link and it's the second from the left, spray wax. Used it this weekend, easy to put on and just as easy to take off. My car's first wax, the FM really sparkles now. Now I hear it's gonna rain all week

Mr. Clean AutoDry system = Best product ever! Why risk scratching the paint with towels when the thing will air dry without a single waterspot!

Yeah, I don't think the one you used is meant to be the actual coat of wax. It's meant to be more of a "booster coat" between applications of Tech wax. Read this: http://www.meguiars.com/whatsnew/nxt....cfm?SKU=G-128

Yeah I see that now...dammit. Oh well maybe next time. Still looks great though and any wax is better than no wax.

Funny that everyone is talking about this.....

I've used Meguiars, or however it's spelled, over the course of 15 years. I've tried many other barands, turtlewax plat recently, zaino, and zymol, to name a few. The big differences I've noticed are how easy the wax goes on/off, and how long the wax lasts. there is some debate on Polymer based waxes (Meguiars nxt, turtle wax) lasting longer than natural based waxes (zymol, meguiars gold class, anything carnuba based), and the natural waxes having a deeper shine to them. personally, *I* can't tell much difference between them.

The difference I've seen among all of these waxes is the amount of time the shine has lasted. The problem with measuring that objectively is that the weather is different between shines, so it's not like you can wax your car one month with brand x, measure how long it lasts, and then the following month wax with brand y.

I went so far as to wax the hood with a few different brands once (meguiars, zymol, and somethign else I can't remember), but to me, there was a minimal difference between them looks wise. Longevity, the polymers seemed to last a bout a week or two longer.

My personal feeling is, find something you like, and stick with it.

I typically wax my car every other weekend, weather permitting. About three times a year, I do a wash, dry, claybar, polish, wax job, that usually takes all day.

I'm not sure why people get their panties in a bunch over this. I never said everyone
needs to run out and get Zymol. In fact, I posted in more then a few threads that
I feel like I wasted a ton of money on all the Zymol product, and only the Wax, Rubber
Seal Conditioner, and the HD-Clean impressed me and stuck in my detail kit.

This man has it right! And this is what I'm trying to say. Except with the addendum
that cheap products are scary. Companies like Turtle Wax, Nu Finish, Armor All, have
stuff in their products that not good for your car, and often not good for you! I'm not
sure I can trust a company, even if they come out with better products, when for years
they have been pushing products that "look good" but are bad for you or your car.
My main example is Armor All and Formaldehyde. I sure don't want that in my car!

The Zymol you get for $10-13 is nothing like the real hand spun carnuba waxes.
I don't like that people compare this product with the likes of NXT and say Zymol
sucks. Granted, they are in the same price range, but that doesn't make them equal
products, not by a long shot. That said, I can understand how it's difficult to compare
a $52 jar of Zymol to a $16 bottle of NXT. Yeah, I'd be hard pressed to go Zymol too!

I'm trying out a lot of products, everything from different wheel cleaners, to different
tire dressings, microfiber, waxes, everything I can afford that sounds like it has a
leg up on other products. And the one thing I keep coming back to, is that if the
product is *safe* and you enjoy using it, enough to use it often, then stick with it!

I love my $62 jar of Zymol Titanium. But when it runs out, I'm really going to have to
think hard about buying another jar when the NXT and many other products like it
are 1/5 the cost and just about as good.

The fact that you guys are taking care of your cars is the important part. I enjoy the
compliments I get everywhere I go about how bright my BOP paint is, how crystal
clear my headlights and windows are, and how my wheels are black without looking
greasy or wet. I'm also glad that with great products coming out these days, it's not
that expensive to maintain this show finish all the time!

Ok, enough rambling. My point, and you'll see this from a lot of experience guys who
don't treat was like religion:

Find something you like, and use it often.

I forgot:

NXT on one side, my $62 jar of Zymol on the other.

Yeah, you can't tell the difference in person either. At least not till you touch it.
It's obvious which is a carnuba and which is a polymer when you touch it.

From my wax test thread here:

From my Microfiber Test:

I'm finishing up testing on wheel dressing, and I found a drying towel that just
floored me this weekend!
