what year do you own? For 07, Toyota recommends 0W20 or 5W20. There really is no best motor oil. SOme will swear by synthetic motor oil. In that case Royal Purple or Mobil 1 more than gets the job done.

Mobil 1 5w30 with a Toyota filter... BTW, I've never heard of a Toyota/Ford dealership, they sell the best cars and the worst cars all in one place for your convience I guess...

M1 5w30 and the OEM Toyota YZZF1 filters - which you can buy in 10-paks from trdsparks.com HERE!

Actually, they changed to 5w20 for the 06 as well.

Do a little search and you'll find the TSB that shows the change for '06 tCs.
You think I'd make that up?
Yes, the manual and the cap show 5w30 - they shipped before the change was made.

So, what about the engine changed from 05 to 06 that warrants a fairley signifcant change in weight and viscosity?

I use Redline full-syn in all my cars. Great stuff.

haha... it's okay....

little pet peeve of mine when someone asks a question that you can find in the manual.. though the tsb itself is seperate indeed.

other things like.. resetting windows, maint. light.. gosh... if people opened up a book once in awhile..

but to answer the question above.. newer design changes in the 2AZ-FE allow the change in the oil grade.. is it necessary? not really... but it can take it and allow better fuel efficiency and all that jazz... significant? not much... but yeah....
