Default RS 1.0 XB = cracked windshield for the 2ND TIME

i love everything about my RS 1.0 XB ... EXCEPT the windshield.

The wonderful windshield just received another _____slap by a rock and now has a huge crack... for the SECOND time within 2 months...

I JUST had the windshield replaced and Now it happens again... WTF... its not like im tailgating or doing anything wrong....

my boyfriend, who also has an XB, also has two rather large cracks in his windshield...

really i dont mean to be dramatic about this but im just ____ed......

is the angle to which the window sets a huge design flaw or what?

Yeah it does suck. Someone needs to make something that goes over the windshield to add alittle protection for it. Kinda like the headlight thingys.

I agree wid ya 100%!!!! About a couple a months ago, I was going home and heard a bang on my windshield, and receive a minor crack on the windshield. Just got it repaired about 2 weeks ago. I think someone gotta do something with the roads or clearguard can create something to protect the windshields?

I had the WeatherTech Bug/Stone Shield. I guess it work to some extent. Reason why I took it off is the extra wind noise it creates at speeds over 45PMH BrockAbba had his painted to match his TCM. He paid like $50 at a local place to coloar match his xB.

I just got mine replaced finally. 317 including moulding (couldn't get the glass replaced without getting a new moulding). It is PPG Solex Duplate glass. My best guess is the angle of the windshield could be the cause of the cracks. The rocks hit the windshield with more force before being deflected off compared to a honda accord for instance. I drive with more distance between me and trucks for instance to make sure my windshield lasts.

I managed to go over 13K miles, and had my first HIT on Wed. I now have a dime sized crack in my windshield. I called my insurance today, and someone will be out tomorrow to try epoxy first at no charge to me. If not, then they will replace it at $100 deductable.

I have had several rocks hit my windshield, and never left a mark on it. It just so happens how the rock hit the window. It sucks, but whatcha gonna do?

BTW, i think that the bug/rock deflector is just a waste. Any sized rock isnt going to be pushed up and over with that little bit of air redircted. If its heavier the the air flow, then its going to leave a mark on the windshield.
