Default Scion tC TSB's......

Ok not too sure if I can post these on a public fourm but hey what the hell....

Here are the most relevant TSB's for the Scion tC....

AC Vent Replacement
Rear Hatch Rattle
A/C Slow Cool Down
CEL "On"
Shift Lever Replacement
Popping Sunroof

I got these buy purchasing a 1-day pass to TechInfo.toyota.com which has everything you will ever want to know about any Toyota in PDF format. Although it is 10 bucks a day.

A word of warning.... more than likely if you try to fix these problems yourself and you mess up the dealer will be able to tell and YOU will probably have to PAY for it! I am posting these only for information to see if they apply to you.

yes. the site does show covered VINs. and a ton of other stuff. new and old part numbers and a procedure for the replacement or repair.

there is also a ton of other really cool things on the site. like new car features, owners manual amongst other things.

next time don't waste the money to get access. ask a question and I am sure somebody here can find you the answer.

I heard it pop before too. I swear if my sunroof shatters and I crash into something. Somebody is going to get sued.

Well the poping noise that you hear is actually your sunroof moving under the force of the flex when going over a bump....and that is a pretty big sheet of glass to be flexing all the time....

ie its gonna break....but the question is when?

my car's vin is after the tsb vin#
i need the hatch rattle fixed
my car sounds like the whole hatch is loose and moving all around, seriously it sounds like the whole back end could just fall off
I can open the hatch and push the rear end down to bounce the suspension and i hear clunking noises anyone else do this?

Default Sunroof TSB

My experience has been that the Sunroof TSB has not fixed the problem completely. The first time, the pop sound was corrected, but replaced with a more frequent rattling sound. I've had it in the Dealer shop four times, the final time being an entire sunroof replacement. I'm looking for alternatives.

FYI: if the TSB on the hatch rattle does not work for you, simply buy 1/4x1/2 inch black foam adhesive weather stripping tape and put it on the rubber hatch bumpers. It puts upward force against the hatch while closed and prevents the rattle.

Good luck, we'll all need it.

Sorry to sound stupid but are those # and * on the vin numbers wildcards? I have a problem with my A/C not getting cold enough. Maybe mine qualifies for the AC slow cool down TSB.

yea...me too...it's not the center console that i have problem with is the side where the driver and the passenger side AC Vent, but i think the tsb is only for the center console part...cause the sides don't have removeable parts for it...what i mean by that is that you can't take taht part out...i seen a mechanic try to do it....but there's not like a piece where you can just yank out...like the center console...

yea and it scares me too i brought my car in to the dealer to get it fix, but they can't do ____ about it just put some velcro on...so i wonder if i can do it myself..fix it i mean, but the black and white pic it has on the tsb is kinda hard to read
